Die Knechte Gottes als Empfänger der Hulderweise Gottes für David

1 Auf, alle Durstigen, kommt zum Wasser! / Die ihr kein Geld habt, kommt, kauft Getreide und esst, kommt und kauft ohne Geld / und ohne Bezahlung Wein und Milch! (Joh 7,37; Offb 22,17) 2 Warum bezahlt ihr mit Geld, was euch nicht nährt, / und mit dem Lohn eurer Mühen, / was euch nicht satt macht? Hört auf mich, dann bekommt ihr das Beste zu essen / und könnt euch laben an fetten Speisen! 3 Neigt euer Ohr und kommt zu mir, / hört und ihr werdet aufleben! Ich schließe mit euch einen ewigen Bund: / Die Erweise der Huld für David sind beständig. (2Chr 6,42; Jes 61,8; Apg 13,34) 4 Siehe, ich habe ihn zum Zeugen für die Völker gemacht, / zum Fürsten und Gebieter der Nationen. 5 Siehe, eine Nation, die du nicht kennst, wirst du rufen / und eine Nation, die dich nicht kannte, eilt zu dir, um des HERRN, deines Gottes, des Heiligen Israels willen, / weil er dich herrlich gemacht hat.

Mahnung zur Gottsuche

6 Sucht den HERRN, er lässt sich finden, / ruft ihn an, er ist nah! 7 Der Frevler soll seinen Weg verlassen, / der Übeltäter seine Pläne. Er kehre um zum HERRN, / damit er Erbarmen hat mit ihm, und zu unserem Gott; / denn er ist groß im Verzeihen.

Vertrauen auf die Wirksamkeit des göttlichen Wortes

8 Meine Gedanken sind nicht eure Gedanken / und eure Wege sind nicht meine Wege - / Spruch des HERRN. 9 So hoch der Himmel über der Erde ist, / so hoch erhaben sind meine Wege über eure Wege / und meine Gedanken über eure Gedanken. 10 Denn wie der Regen und der Schnee vom Himmel fällt / und nicht dorthin zurückkehrt, ohne die Erde zu tränken und sie zum Keimen und Sprossen zu bringen, / dass sie dem Sämann Samen gibt und Brot zum Essen, (2Kor 9,10) 11 so ist es auch mit dem Wort, / das meinen Mund verlässt: Es kehrt nicht leer zu mir zurück, / ohne zu bewirken, was ich will, / und das zu erreichen, wozu ich es ausgesandt habe.

Der freudige Auszug aus Babel

12 In Freude werdet ihr ausziehen / und in Frieden heimgebracht werden. Berge und Hügel brechen vor euch in Jubel aus / und alle Bäume auf dem Feld klatschen in die Hände. (Jes 44,23) 13 Statt Dornen wachsen Zypressen, / statt Brennnesseln Myrten. Das geschieht zum Ruhm des HERRN / zum ewigen Zeichen, das niemals getilgt wird. (Jes 56,5)

Invitation to the thirsty

1 ‘Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. 3 Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. 4 See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a ruler and commander of the peoples. 5 Surely you will summon nations you know not, and nations you do not know will come running to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendour.’ 6 Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake their ways and the unrighteous their thoughts. Let them turn to the Lord, and he will have mercy on them, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. 8 ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. 9 ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12 You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn-bush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow. This will be for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure for ever.’
