1 Von David. Ich will dir danken mit meinem ganzen Herzen, vor Göttern will ich dir singen und spielen. (Ps 7,18; Ps 9,2; Ps 111,1) 2 Ich will mich niederwerfen zu deinem heiligen Tempel hin, / will deinem Namen danken für deine Huld und für deine Treue. Denn du hast dein Wort größer gemacht als deinen ganzen Namen. (Ps 5,8; Dan 6,11) 3 Am Tag, da ich rief, gabst du mir Antwort, du weckst Kraft in meiner Seele.[1] 4 Dir, HERR, sollen alle Könige der Erde danken, wenn sie die Worte deines Munds hören. (Ps 68,33; Jes 2,3) 5 Sie sollen singen auf den Wegen des HERRN Die Herrlichkeit des HERRN ist gewaltig. 6 Erhaben ist der HERR, doch er schaut auf den Niedrigen, in der Höhe ist er, doch er erkennt von ferne. (Jes 57,15; Lk 1,51) 7 Muss ich auch gehen inmitten der Drangsal, du erhältst mich am Leben trotz der Wut meiner Feinde. Du streckst deine Hand aus, deine Rechte hilft mir. (Ps 23,4) 8 Der HERR wird es für mich vollenden. / HERR, deine Huld währt ewig. Lass nicht ab von den Werken deiner Hände!

1 Of David. I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart; before the gods I sing your praise; (Ps 95,3; Ps 96,5; Ps 111,1) 2 I bow down toward your holy temple and give thanks to your name for your steadfast love and your faithfulness, for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.[1] (1Kön 8,29; Ps 5,7; Ps 28,2) 3 On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased.[2] 4 All the kings of the earth shall give you thanks, O Lord, for they have heard the words of your mouth, (Ps 102,15) 5 and they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord. (Ps 103,7) 6 For though the Lord is high, he regards the lowly, but the haughty he knows from afar. (Ps 113,5; Ps 131,1; Spr 3,34; Lk 1,48; Jak 4,6) 7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me. (1Sam 24,6; Hi 1,12; Ps 23,4; Ps 60,5; Ps 71,20) 8 The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.
