1A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song. On the holy mount stands the city he founded; (Ps 42:1; Ps 48:1; Isa 28:16)2the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. (Ps 78:67)3Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. (Ps 46:4; Isa 54:1; Isa 60:1)4Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush[1]— “This one was born there,” they say. (Job 9:13; Ps 36:10; Ps 68:31; Isa 19:22; Joh 10:14)5And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. (Ps 48:8)6The Lord records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” (Ps 69:28)7Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.” (2Sa 6:14; Ps 36:9; Ps 68:25; Isa 12:3; Re 21:6)
