1The Lord said to Moses,2“Speak to the people of Israel, that they take for me a contribution. From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution for me. (Ex 35:4; Ex 35:5; Ex 35:21; Ex 35:29; Ex 36:2; Jud 5:2; 1Ch 29:5; Ezr 1:6; Ezr 2:68; Ezr 3:5; Ezr 7:16; Ne 11:2; 2Co 8:12; 2Co 9:7)3And this is the contribution that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze,4blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, goats’ hair, (Ex 26:1; Ex 26:31; Ex 26:36)5tanned rams’ skins, goatskins,[1] acacia wood, (Ex 26:14)6oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, (Ex 27:20; Ex 30:7; Ex 30:23; Ex 30:34; Ex 31:11)7onyx stones, and stones for setting, for the ephod and for the breastpiece. (Ex 28:4; Ex 28:15)8And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst. The Ark of the Covenant
10“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits[2] and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. (Ex 37:1; De 10:3; Heb 9:4)11You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it. (Ex 25:24; Ex 30:3; Ex 37:2)12You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. (Ex 37:3)13You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.14And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.15The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. (1Ki 8:8)16And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you. (Ex 16:34; De 31:26; 1Ki 8:9)17“You shall make a mercy seat[3] of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. (Ex 37:6; Heb 9:5)18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. (Ex 25:31; Ex 37:7; Ex 37:17; Ex 37:22; Nu 8:4; Nu 10:2)19Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. (Ex 37:8)20The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. (1Ki 8:7; 1Ch 28:18; Heb 9:5)21And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.22There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel. The Table for Bread
23“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. (Ex 37:10; 1Ki 7:48; 2Ch 4:8; Heb 9:2)24You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it. (Ex 25:11)25And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth[4] wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.27Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table. (Ex 26:29; Ex 30:4; Ex 36:34; Ex 37:14; Ex 37:27; Ex 38:5)28You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.29And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. The Golden Lampstand
31“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it. (Ex 37:17; 1Ki 7:49; Zec 4:2; Heb 9:2; Re 1:12)32And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;33three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.34And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,35and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.36Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.37You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it. (Le 24:2; Nu 8:2; 2Ch 13:11)38Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.39It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent[5] of pure gold.40And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain. Offerings for the tabernacle
1The Lord said to Moses,2‘Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.3‘These are the offerings you are to receive from them: ‘gold, silver and bronze;4blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair;5ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather[1]; acacia wood;6olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense;7and onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece.8‘Then let them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.9Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I will show you.
The ark
10‘Let them make an ark[2] of acacia wood – two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high.[3]11Overlay it with pure gold, both inside and out, and make a gold moulding around it.12Cast four gold rings for it and fasten them to its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other.13Then make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.14Insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry it.15The poles are to remain in the rings of this ark; they are not to be removed.16Then put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law, which I will give you.17‘Make an atonement cover of pure gold – two and a half cubits long and a cubit and a half wide.18And make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.19Make one cherub on one end and the second cherub on the other; make the cherubim of one piece with the cover, at the two ends.20The cherubim are to have their wings spread upwards, overshadowing the cover with them. The cherubim are to face each other, looking towards the cover.21Place the cover on top of the ark and put in the ark the tablets of the covenant law that I will give you.22There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the covenant law, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites.
The table
23‘Make a table of acacia wood – two cubits long, a cubit wide and a cubit and a half high.[4]24Overlay it with pure gold and make a gold moulding around it.25Also make around it a rim a handbreadth[5] wide and put a gold moulding on the rim.26Make four gold rings for the table and fasten them to the four corners, where the four legs are.27The rings are to be close to the rim to hold the poles used in carrying the table.28Make the poles of acacia wood, overlay them with gold and carry the table with them.29And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings.30Put the bread of the Presence on this table to be before me at all times.
The lampstand
31‘Make a lampstand of pure gold. Hammer out its base and shaft, and make its flowerlike cups, buds and blossoms of one piece with them.32Six branches are to extend from the sides of the lampstand – three on one side and three on the other.33Three cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms are to be on one branch, three on the next branch, and the same for all six branches extending from the lampstand.34And on the lampstand there are to be four cups shaped like almond flowers with buds and blossoms.35One bud shall be under the first pair of branches extending from the lampstand, a second bud under the second pair, and a third bud under the third pair – six branches in all.36The buds and branches shall all be of one piece with the lampstand, hammered out of pure gold.37‘Then make its seven lamps and set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.38Its wick trimmers and trays are to be of pure gold.39A talent[6] of pure gold is to be used for the lampstand and all these accessories.40See that you make them according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.
