Psalm 46

English Standard Version



1 To the choirmaster. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth.[1] A Song. God is our refuge and strength, a very present[2] help in trouble. (De 4:7; 1Ch 15:20; Ps 9:9; Ps 14:6; Ps 42:1; Ps 145:18) 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, (Ps 18:7; Eze 27:26) 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. (Ps 93:3; Jer 5:22) 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most High. (Ps 36:8; Ps 43:3; Ps 48:1; Ps 65:9; Ps 84:1; Ps 87:3; Isa 8:6; Isa 33:21; Isa 60:14; Re 22:1) 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. (Le 26:12; De 23:14; Isa 12:6; Eze 43:7; Eze 43:9; Ho 11:9; Joe 2:27; Zep 3:15; Zec 2:5; Zec 2:10; Zec 8:3) 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts. (Ex 15:15; Jos 2:9; Jos 2:24; Ps 2:1; Ps 18:13; Ps 68:33; Ps 76:8; Jer 25:30; Joe 2:11; Joe 3:16; Am 1:2; Am 9:5) 7 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Nu 14:9; 2Ch 13:12; 2Ch 20:17; Ps 46:11) 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. (Ps 66:5) 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. (1Sa 2:4; Ps 76:3; Isa 2:4; Eze 39:9; Mic 4:3) 10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” (Ex 14:13; Isa 2:11; Isa 2:17; Isa 33:10) 11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Ps 46:7)

1 Für den Dirigenten[1]. Von den Korachitern[2]. In hoher Stimmlage[3] vorzutragen. Ein Lied. (Ps 4:1; Ps 42:1) 2 Gott ist für uns Zuflucht und Schutz, in Zeiten der Not schenkt er uns seine Hilfe mehr als genug[4]. 3 Darum fürchten wir uns nicht, wenn auch die Erde bebt und wankt und die Berge mitten ins Meer sinken, 4 wenn auch seine Wellen brausen und tosen und die Berge erbeben von seiner gewaltigen Kraft. //[5] (Ps 3:3) 5 Ein Strom, von vielen Bächen gespeist, erfreut die Stadt Gottes, den heiligen Ort, an dem der Höchste wohnt. 6 Ja, Gott wohnt in ihrer Mitte, darum wird sie niemals ins Wanken geraten, Gott wird ihr Hilfe bringen, wenn sich die Nacht zum Morgen wendet. 7 Völker geraten in Aufruhr, Königreiche wanken – Gott lässt seine Stimme nur einmal erschallen, und schon vergeht die ganze Welt! 8 Der allmächtige HERR[6] ist mit uns, der Gott Jakobs ist für uns eine sichere Burg. // 9 Kommt und führt euch vor Augen, welch große Taten der HERR vollbracht hat! In aller Welt hat er vernichtende Schläge gegen seine Feinde geführt. 10 Er beendet Kriege überall auf der Erde, Pfeil und Bogen bricht er entzwei, er zerschmettert Speere und verbrennt Streitwagen im Feuer. 11 Lasst euren Aufruhr und erkennt[7], dass ich allein Gott bin, hoch erhaben über alle Völker, geehrt in aller Welt. 12 Der allmächtige HERR ist mit uns, der Gott Jakobs ist für uns eine sichere Burg. //
