1 A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? (Ps 48:1; Ps 87:1; Ps 120:1; Ps 123:1; Ps 133:3; Jer 3:23) 2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. (Ps 20:2; Ps 115:15; Ps 124:8) 3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. (1Sa 2:9; Ps 41:2; Ps 66:9; Ps 97:10; Ps 127:1; Pr 3:23; Pr 3:26; Isa 27:3) 4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. (Ps 16:8; Ps 91:1) 6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. (2Ki 4:19; Isa 49:10; Jon 4:8; Re 7:16) 7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. (Ps 121:3) 8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore. (Nu 27:17; De 28:6; De 31:2; 1Sa 29:6; 1Ki 3:7; Ac 1:21)

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied, gesungen auf dem Weg hinauf nach Jerusalem.[1] Ich richte meinen Blick empor zu den Bergen – woher wird Hilfe für mich kommen? (Ps 120:1) 2 Meine Hilfe kommt vom HERRN, der Himmel und Erde geschaffen hat. 3 Er bewahrt deine Füße vor dem Stolpern; er, dein Beschützer, schläft niemals. 4 Ja, der Beschützer Israels schläft und schlummert nicht! 5 Der HERR behütet dich, der HERR spendet dir Schatten und steht dir bei[2], 6 damit dich am Tag die Sonne nicht sticht und in der Nacht der Mond dir nicht schadet. 7 Der HERR wird dich behüten vor jedem Unheil, er bewahrt dein Leben. 8 Der HERR behütet dich, wenn du gehst und wenn du kommst – jetzt und für alle Zeit.[3]
