1From there Abraham journeyed toward the territory of the Negeb and lived between Kadesh and Shur; and he sojourned in Gerar. So konnte sie meine Frau werden.13Als Gott mir befahl, mein Elternhaus zu verlassen und in die Fremde zu ziehen, bat ich sie: ›Sag mir zuliebe überall, wo wir hinkommen, dass ich dein Bruder bin.‹«14Da gab Abimelech Abraham seine Frau zurück und schenkte ihm dazu noch Schafe, Ziegen und Rinder sowie Knechte und Mägde.15»Mein Land steht dir offen – du kannst wohnen, wo es dir gefällt!«, bot er ihm an.16Zu Sara sagte er: »Ich gebe deinem Bruder tausend Silberstücke, damit eure Leute die ganze Angelegenheit schnell vergessen und dir nichts Schlechtes mehr nachsagen.«[5]17Dann betete Abraham für Abimelech, und Gott ließ Abimelech, seine Frau und seine Nebenfrauen[6] wieder gesund werden, sodass sie wieder Kinder bekommen konnten.18Der HERR hatte nämlich alle Frauen im Haushalt von Abimelech unfruchtbar werden lassen, weil der König Abrahams Frau Sara zu sich geholt hatte.
