Greeting

1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithful^[1] in Christ Jesus: (1Co 1:1; 2Co 1:1; Col 1:2) 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ro 1:7)

Thanksgiving and Prayer

15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love^[6] toward all the saints, (Ro 1:8; Col 1:4; Phm 1:5) 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, (Ro 1:9; Col 1:9; 2Ti 1:3) 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, (Ro 15:6; Col 1:9) 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, (Ac 26:18; Eph 1:7; Eph 2:12; Eph 3:8; Eph 3:16; Eph 4:4; Col 1:27; Heb 6:4; Heb 10:32; Re 3:17)

1 مِنْ بُولُسَ، وَهُوَ رَسُولٌ لِلْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ بِمَشِيئَةِ اللهِ، إِلَى الْقِدِّيسِينَ الأُمَنَاءِ فِي الْمَسِيحِ يَسُوعَ، [الْمُقِيمِينَ فِي أَفَسُسَ]. 2 لِتَكُنْ لَكُمُ النِّعْمَةُ وَالسَّلامُ مِنَ اللهِ أَبِينَا وَالرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ.

3 تَبَارَكَ اللهُ، أَبُو رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ الَّذِي بَارَكَنَا بِكُلِّ بَرَكَةٍ رُوحِيَّةٍ فِي الأَمَاكِنِ السَّمَاوِيَّةِ. 4 كَمَا كَانَ قَدِ اخْتَارَنَا فِيهِ قَبْلَ تَأْسِيسِ الْعَالَمِ، لِنَكُونَ قِدِّيسِينَ بِلا لَوْمٍ أَمَامَهُ. 5 إِذْ سَبَقَ فَعَيَّنَنَا فِي الْمَحَبَّةِ لِيَتَّخِذَنَا أَبْنَاءً لَهُ بِيَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ. وَذَلِكَ مُوَافِقٌ لِلْقَصْدِ الَّذِي سُرَّتْ بِهِ مَشِيئَتُهُ، 6 بِغَرَضِ مَدْحِ مَجْدِ نِعْمَتِهِ الَّتِي بِها أَعْطَانَا حُظْوَةً لَدَيْهِ فِي الْمَحْبُوبِ: 7 فَفِيهِ لَنَا بِدَمِهِ الْفِدَاءُ، أَيْ غُفْرَانُ الْخَطَايَا؛ بِحَسَبِ غِنَى نِعْمَتِهِ 8 الَّتِي جَعَلَهَا تَفِيضُ عَلَيْنَا مَصْحُوبَةً بِكُلِّ حِكْمَةٍ وَفَهْمٍ. 9 إِذْ كَشَفَ لَنَا سِرَّ مَشِيئَتِهِ بِحَسَبِ مَرْضَاتِهِ الَّتِي قَصَدَهَا فِي نَفْسِهِ، 10 لأَجْلِ تَدْبِيرِ تَمَامِ الأَزْمِنَةِ، حِينَ يُوَحِّدُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ تَحْتَ رَئَاسَةِ الْمَسِيحِ، سَوَاءٌ الأَشْيَاءُ الَّتِي فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالَّتِي عَلَى الأَرْضِ. 11 وَفِي الْمَسِيحِ أَيْضاً قَدْ حَصَلْنَا عَلَى الْمِيرَاثِ الَّذِي سَبَقَ أَنْ عُيِّنَّا لَهُ، وَفْقاً لِقَصْدِهِ، هُوَ الَّذِي يَعْمَلُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ كَمَا تَقْضِي مَشِيئَتُهُ. 12 وَالْغَايَةُ أَنْ نَكُونَ سَبَباً لِمَدْحِ مَجْدِهِ بَعْدَمَا سَبَقَ لَنَا أَنْ وَضَعْنَا رَجَاءَنَا فِي الْمَسِيحِ. 13 وَفِيهِ أَنْتُمْ أَيْضاً (وَضَعْتُمْ رَجَاءَكُمْ) إِذْ سَمِعْتُمْ كَلِمَةَ الْحَقِّ، أَيْ الإِنْجِيلَ الَّذِي فِيهِ خَلاصُكُمْ؛ كَذَلِكَ فِيهِ أَيْضاً خُتِمْتُمْ، إِذْ آمَنْتُمْ، بِالرُّوحِ الْقُدُسِ الْمَوْعُودِ، 14 هَذَا الرُّوحِ الَّذِي هُوَ عُرْبُونُ مِيرَاثِنَا إِلَى أَنْ يَتِمَّ فِدَاءُ شَعْبِهِ الَّذِي اقْتَنَاهُ بِغَرَضِ مَدْحِ مَجْدِهِ.

15 لِذَلِكَ أَنَا أَيْضاً، وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ بِمَا فِيكُمْ مِنَ الإِيمَانِ بِالرَّبِّ يَسُوعَ وَالْمَحَبَّةِ لِجَمِيعِ الْقِدِّيسِينَ، 16 لَا أَنْقَطِعُ عَنْ شُكْرِ اللهِ لأَجْلِكُمْ وَعَنْ ذِكْرِكُمْ فِي صَلَوَاتِي، 17 حَتَّى يَهَبَكُمْ إِلَهُ رَبِّنَا يَسُوعَ الْمَسِيحِ، أَبُو الْمَجْدِ، رُوحَ حِكْمَةٍ وَإِلْهَامٍ: لِتَعْرِفُوهُ مَعْرِفَةً كَامِلَةً 18 إِذْ تَسْتَنِيرُ بَصَائِرُ قُلُوبِكُمْ، فَتَعْلَمُوا مَا فِي دَعْوَتِهِ لَكُمْ مِنْ رَجَاءٍ، وَمَا هُوَ غِنَى مَجْدِ مِيرَاثِهِ فِي الْقِدِّيسِينَ، 19 وَمَا هِيَ عَظَمَةُ قُدْرَتِهِ الْفَائِقَةُ الْمُعْلَنَةُ لَنَا نَحْنُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، بِحَسَبِ عَمَلِ اقْتِدَارِ قُوَّتِهِ 20 الَّذِي عَمِلَهُ فِي الْمَسِيحِ، بِإِقَامَتِهِ لَهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ الأَمْوَاتِ. وَقَدْ أَجْلَسَهُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ، 21 أَرْفَعَ جِدّاً مِنْ كُلِّ رَئَاسَةٍ وَسُلْطَةٍ وَقُوَّةٍ وَسِيَادَةٍ، وَمِنْ كُلِّ اسْمٍ يُسَمَّى، لَا فِي هَذَا الْعَالَمِ وَحَسْبُ، بَلْ فِي ذَلِكَ الآتِي أَيْضاً. 22 وَأَخْضَعَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ تَحْتَ قَدَمَيْهِ، وَإِيَّاهُ جَعَلَ فَوْقَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ رَأْساً لِلْكَنِيسَةِ 23 الَّتِي هِيَ جَسَدُهُ وَكَمَالُهُ، هُوَ الَّذِي يُكَمِّلُ الْكُلَّ فِي الكُلِّ.
