3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice. (1Sa 15:22; Pr 15:8) 4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart, the lamp^[1] of the wicked, are sin. (1Sa 15:22; Ho 6:6) 4 Hoffärtige Augen und stolzer Sinn, die Leuchte der Gottlosen, ist Sünde. 5 Das Planen eines Emsigen bringt Überfluss; wer aber hastet, dem wird’s mangeln. 6 Wer Schätze sammelt mit Lügen, der ist ein flüchtiger Hauch unter denen, die den Tod suchen. 7 Der Frevler Gewalt rafft sie selber weg; denn sie wollen nicht tun, was recht ist. 8 Wer mit Schuld beladen ist, geht krumme Wege; wer aber rein ist, dessen Tun ist gerade. 9 Besser im Winkel auf dem Dach wohnen als mit einer zänkischen Frau zusammen in einem Hause. 10 Die Seele des Frevlers gelüstet nach Bösem und erbarmt sich nicht seines Nächsten. 11 Wenn der Spötter gestraft wird, so werden die Unverständigen weise, und wenn man einen Weisen belehrt, so nimmt er Erkenntnis an. (Pr 19:25) 12 Der Gerechte handelt weise an des Frevlers Haus, er stürzt die Frevler ins Verderben. 13 Wer seine Ohren verstopft vor dem Schreien des Armen, der wird einst auch rufen und nicht erhört werden. 14 Eine heimliche Gabe stillt den Zorn und ein Geschenk im Verborgenen den heftigen Grimm. (1Sa 25:18) 15 Dem Gerechten ist es eine Freude, zu tun, was recht ist, aber den Übeltätern ist es ein Schrecken. 16 Ein Mensch, der vom Wege der Klugheit abirrt, wird weilen in der Schar der Toten. 17 Wer gern in Freuden lebt, wird Mangel haben; und wer Wein und Salböl liebt, wird nicht reich. (Pr 23:21) 18 Der Frevler wird als Lösegeld gegeben für den Gerechten und der Verächter für die Frommen. 19 Besser in der Wüste wohnen als bei einem zänkischen und zornigen Weibe. 20 Im Hause des Weisen ist ein kostbarer Schatz an Öl; aber ein Tor vergeudet ihn. 21 Wer der Gerechtigkeit und Güte nachjagt, der findet Leben, Gerechtigkeit und Ehre. 22 Ein Weiser ersteigt die Stadt der Starken und stürzt ihre Macht, auf die sie sich verlässt. 23 Wer Mund und Zunge bewahrt, der bewahrt sein Leben vor Not. (Pr 13:3) 24 Wer stolz und vermessen ist, heißt ein Spötter; er treibt frechen Übermut. 25 Der Faule stirbt über seinem Wünschen; denn seine Hände wollen nichts tun. (Pr 13:4) 26 Den ganzen Tag begehrt die Gier; aber der Gerechte gibt und versagt nichts. 27 Der Frevler Opfer ist ein Gräuel, wie viel mehr, wenn man’s darbringt für eine Schandtat. (Pr 15:8) 28 Ein lügenhafter Zeuge wird umkommen; doch wer zu hören versteht, dessen Wort bleibt. (Pr 19:5; Pr 19:9) 29 Der Gottlose macht ein freches Gesicht; aber wer fromm ist, macht seine Wege fest. 30 Keine Weisheit, kein Verstand, kein Rat besteht vor dem HERRN.
