Psalm 122

English Standard Version

1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” (Ps 120:1; Isa 2:3; Mic 4:2; Zec 8:21)2 Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem!3 Jerusalem—built as a city that is bound firmly together, (Ne 4:6; Ps 147:2)4 to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, as was decreed for[1] Israel, to give thanks to the name of the Lord. (De 16:16; Ps 78:5)5 There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David. (De 17:8; 2Sa 15:2; 1Ki 3:16; 1Ki 7:7; 2Ch 19:8)6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! (Ps 51:18; Jer 29:7)7 Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” (Ps 48:13)8 For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” (1Sa 25:6; Ps 85:8)9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good. (Ne 2:10; Es 10:3)

Psalm 122

King James Version

1 A Song of degrees of David. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.8 For my brethren and companions'sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.9 Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
