I Have Calmed and Quieted My Soul

1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. (Job 42:3; Ps 101:5; Ps 120:1; Ps 138:6; Isa 57:15; Jer 45:5; Ro 12:16) 

2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me. (Mt 18:3; 1Co 14:20) 

3 O Israel, hope in the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. (Ps 130:7)

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied. Von David. HERR, mein Herz überhebt sich nicht, nicht hochmütig blicken meine Augen, ich gehe nicht um mit großen Dingen, mit Dingen, die mir nicht begreiflich sind. (1Pe 5:5; Sir 3:21; Sir 23:4) 

2 Vielmehr habe ich besänftigt, habe zur Ruhe gebracht meine Seele. Wie ein gestilltes Kind bei seiner Mutter, wie das gestillte Kind, so ist meine Seele in mir. (Ps 62:2) 

3 Israel, warte auf den HERRN von nun an bis in Ewigkeit! (Ps 130:7)
