1Esta es la tercera vez que voy a vosotros: Por el testimonio de dos o tres testigos se decidirá todo asunto.2He dicho antes, cuando estuve presente la segunda vez, y aunque ahora estoy ausente, lo digo de antemano a los que pecaron anteriormente y a todos los demás: si voy otra vez, no seré indulgente,3puesto que buscáis una evidencia del Mesías que habla en mí, el cual no es débil para con vosotros, sino que es poderoso en vosotros.4Porque fue crucificado en debilidad, pero vive por el poder de Dios. Nosotros también somos débiles en Él, pero viviremos con Él por el poder de Dios para con vosotros.5Examinaos a vosotros mismos si estáis en la fe; probaos a vosotros mismos. ¿O no os reconocéis a vosotros mismos, que Jesús el Mesías está en vosotros? ¡A menos que estéis descalificados!6Pero espero que reconoceréis que nosotros no estamos descalificados.7Y oramos a Dios para que vosotros no hagáis nada malo; no para que nosotros aparezcamos aprobados, sino para que vosotros hagáis lo bueno, aunque nosotros aparezcamos como descalificados.8Porque nada podemos hacer contra la verdad, sino a favor de la verdad.9Por lo cual nos regocijamos de que nosotros seamos débiles y vosotros fuertes. Y esto pedimos: vuestra perfección.10Por tanto, escribo estas cosas estando ausente, para no actuar severamente estando presente, según la autoridad que el Señor me dio para edificación y no para destrucción.

11Por lo demás, hermanos, regocijaos, procurad vuestra perfección, consolaos, tened un mismo sentir, vivid en paz, y el Dios de amor y de paz estará con vosotros.12Saludaos unos a otros con ósculo santo.13Os saludan todos los santos.14La gracia del Señor Jesús, el Mesías, el amor de Dios, y la comunión del Espíritu Santo sean con todos vosotros.

1This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.2I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them which heretofore have sinned, and to all other, that, if I come again, I will not spare:3Since ye seek a proof of Christ speaking in me, which to you-ward is not weak, but is mighty in you.4For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he liveth by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?6But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.7Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.8For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.9For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.10Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction.11Finally, brethren, farewell.
