1Exhorto pues a los ancianos entre vosotros (yo anciano también con ellos y testigo de los padecimientos del Mesías, que también soy participante de la gloria que va a ser revelada):2Apacentad la grey de Dios que está entre vosotros, no por fuerza, sino voluntariamente, según Dios; no con avaricia de ganancia material, sino de buena voluntad;3no enseñoreándoos de la gran heredad, sino siendo ejemplos de la grey.4Y cuando aparezca el Príncipe de los pastores, recibiréis la corona inmarcesible de gloria.5Igualmente, jóvenes, estad sujetos a los ancianos, y todos vosotros revestíos de humildad los unos para con los otros, porque: Dios resiste a los soberbios y da gracia a los humildes.6Sed humillados, pues, bajo la poderosa mano de Dios, para que os exalte a su tiempo;7echando toda vuestra ansiedad sobre Él, porque Él tiene cuidado de vosotros.8Sed sobrios, velad, que vuestro adversario el diablo anda como león rugiente, buscando a quien devorar.9Resistidle pues, firmes en la fe, sabiendo que los mismos padecimientos se van cumpliendo en vuestra hermandad en el mundo.10Y el Dios de toda gracia, que os llamó a su gloria eterna en el Mesías, después que padezcáis un poco de tiempo, Él mismo os perfeccionará, afirmará, fortalecerá, establecerá.11A Él sea la soberanía por los siglos, amén.

12Por medio de Silvano, nuestro fiel hermano, según yo lo conceptúo, os he escrito brevemente, exhortándoos y testificando que ésta es la verdadera gracia de Dios: estad firmes en ella.13Os saluda la que está en Babilonia, coelegida, y Marcos mi hijo.14Saludaos los unos a los otros con ósculo de amor. 1The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever.
