1He made a bronze altar twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high.[1]2He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits[2] high. It took a line of thirty cubits[3] to measure round it.3Below the rim, figures of bulls encircled it – ten to a cubit.[4] The bulls were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea.4The Sea stood on twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their hindquarters were towards the centre.5It was a handbreadth[5] in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held three thousand baths.[6]6He then made ten basins for washing and placed five on the south side and five on the north. In them the things to be used for the burnt offerings were rinsed, but the Sea was to be used by the priests for washing.7He made ten gold lampstands according to the specifications for them and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north.8He made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. He also made a hundred gold sprinkling bowls.9He made the courtyard of the priests, and the large court and the doors for the court, and overlaid the doors with bronze.10He placed the Sea on the south side, at the south-east corner.11And Huram also made the pots and shovels and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of God:12the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars;13the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network, decorating the bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars);14the stands with their basins;15the Sea and the twelve bulls under it;16the pots, shovels, meat forks and all related articles. All the objects that Huram-Abi made for King Solomon for the temple of the Lord were of polished bronze.17The king had them cast in clay moulds in the plain of the Jordan between Sukkoth and Zarethan.[7]18All these things that Solomon made amounted to so much that the weight of the bronze could not be calculated.19Solomon also made all the furnishings that were in God’s temple: the golden altar; the tables on which was the bread of the Presence;20the lampstands of pure gold with their lamps, to burn in front of the inner sanctuary as prescribed;21the gold floral work and lamps and tongs (they were solid gold);22the pure gold wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and censers; and the gold doors of the temple: the inner doors to the Most Holy Place and the doors of the main hall.

The Temple’s Furnishings
1He made an altar of bronze, twenty cubits[1] long and twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high. (1Ki 8:64; 2Ki 16:14; 2Ch 7:7; 2Ch 8:12; 2Ch 15:8; Eze 43:13)2Then he made the sea of cast metal. It was round, ten cubits from brim to brim, and five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits measured its circumference. (1Ki 7:23)3Under it were figures of gourds,[2] for ten cubits, compassing the sea all around. The gourds were in two rows, cast with it when it was cast.4It stood on twelve oxen, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south, and three facing east. The sea was set on them, and all their rear parts were inward.5Its thickness was a handbreadth.[3] And its brim was made like the brim of a cup, like the flower of a lily. It held 3,000 baths.[4] (1Ki 7:26)6He also made ten basins in which to wash, and set five on the south side, and five on the north side. In these they were to rinse off what was used for the burnt offering, and the sea was for the priests to wash in. (1Ki 7:38)7And he made ten golden lampstands as prescribed, and set them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. (Ex 25:31; Ex 27:20; 1Ki 7:49; 2Ch 4:20)8He also made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. And he made a hundred basins of gold. (1Ki 7:48; 2Ch 4:19)9He made the court of the priests and the great court and doors for the court and overlaid their doors with bronze. (1Ki 6:36; 2Ki 21:5; 2Ch 6:13)10And he set the sea at the southeast corner of the house. (1Ki 7:39)11Hiram also made the pots, the shovels, and the basins. So Hiram finished the work that he did for King Solomon on the house of God: (1Ki 7:13; 1Ki 7:40)12the two pillars, the bowls, and the two capitals on the top of the pillars; and the two latticeworks to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the top of the pillars; (1Ki 7:41)13and the 400 pomegranates for the two latticeworks, two rows of pomegranates for each latticework, to cover the two bowls of the capitals that were on the pillars. (1Ki 7:20)14He made the stands also, and the basins on the stands, (2Ch 4:6)15and the one sea, and the twelve oxen underneath it.16The pots, the shovels, the forks, and all the equipment for these Huram-abi made of burnished bronze for King Solomon for the house of the Lord. (1Ki 7:14; 1Ch 28:17; 2Ch 2:13; 2Ch 4:11)17In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zeredah.[5]18Solomon made all these things in great quantities, for the weight of the bronze was not sought. (1Ki 7:47)19So Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of God: the golden altar, the tables for the bread of the Presence, (2Ch 4:8)20the lampstands and their lamps of pure gold to burn before the inner sanctuary, as prescribed; (2Ch 4:7)21the flowers, the lamps, and the tongs, of purest gold;22the snuffers, basins, dishes for incense, and fire pans, of pure gold, and the sockets[6] of the temple, for the inner doors to the Most Holy Place and for the doors of the nave of the temple were of gold.
