Ezekiel 11

1 Moreover the spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of the LORD' house, which looketh eastward: and behold at the door of the gate five and twenty men; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. 2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city: 3 Which say, It is not near; let us build houses: this city is the caldron, and we be the flesh. 4 Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. 5 And the Spirit of the LORD fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the LORD; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. 6 Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. 7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this city is the caldron: but I will bring you forth out of the midst of it. 8 Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD. 9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. 10 Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. 11 This city shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; but I will judge you in the border of Israel: 12 And ye shall know that I am the LORD: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither executed my judgments, but have done after the manners of the heathen that are round about you. 13 And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? 14 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 15 Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel wholly, are they unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from the LORD: unto us is this land given in possession. 16 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Although I have cast them far off among the heathen, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them as a little sanctuary in the countries where they shall come. 17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. 18 And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. 19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh: 20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. 21 But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord GOD. 22 Then did the cherubims lift up their wings, and the wheels beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. 23 And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. 24 Afterwards the spirit took me up, and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. 25 Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that the LORD had shewed me.

1 The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the east gate of the house of the Lord, which faces east. And behold, at the entrance of the gateway there were twenty-five men. And I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. (Jer 28:1; Eze 3:12; Eze 8:16; Eze 10:19; Eze 11:13; Eze 11:24) 2 And he said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who devise iniquity and who give wicked counsel in this city; (Eze 2:1) 3 who say, ‘The time is not near[1] to build houses. This city is the cauldron, and we are the meat.’ (Jer 29:28; Eze 12:22; Eze 12:27; Eze 24:3; Eze 24:6) 4 Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, O son of man.” 5 And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and he said to me, “Say, Thus says the Lord: So you think, O house of Israel. For I know the things that come into your mind. (Isa 29:15; Eze 2:2; Eze 20:32; Eze 38:10) 6 You have multiplied your slain in this city and have filled its streets with the slain. (Eze 7:23) 7 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Your slain whom you have laid in the midst of it, they are the meat, and this city is the cauldron, but you shall be brought out of the midst of it. (Eze 11:3; Eze 24:7) 8 You have feared the sword, and I will bring the sword upon you, declares the Lord God. (Jer 42:16) 9 And I will bring you out of the midst of it, and give you into the hands of foreigners, and execute judgments upon you. (Eze 5:8; Eze 7:21) 10 You shall fall by the sword. I will judge you at the border of Israel, and you shall know that I am the Lord. (2Ki 25:18; Jer 39:6; Eze 6:7) 11 This city shall not be your cauldron, nor shall you be the meat in the midst of it. I will judge you at the border of Israel, (Eze 11:3; Eze 11:7) 12 and you shall know that I am the Lord. For you have not walked in my statutes, nor obeyed my rules, but have acted according to the rules of the nations that are around you.” (Eze 8:10; Eze 8:14; Eze 8:16) 13 And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said, “Ah, Lord God! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?” (Eze 9:8; Eze 11:1; Eze 20:17; Ac 5:5) 



14 And the word of the Lord came to me: 15 “Son of man, your brothers, even your brothers, your kinsmen,[2] the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those of whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, ‘Go far from the Lord; to us this land is given for a possession.’ (1Sa 26:19; Eze 2:1) 16 Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while[3] in the countries where they have gone.’ (Isa 8:14; Eze 37:26; Eze 37:28; Re 21:22) 17 Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.’ (Isa 11:12; Eze 20:41; Eze 28:25; Eze 34:13; Eze 36:24; Eze 37:21; Eze 38:8; Eze 39:27) 18 And when they come there, they will remove from it all its detestable things and all its abominations. (Eze 5:11; Eze 37:23) 19 And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, (Ps 51:10; Jer 31:33; Jer 32:39; Eze 18:31; Eze 36:26; Zec 7:12; Ac 4:32; 2Co 3:3) 20 that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. (Le 26:12; Ps 105:45; Jer 30:22; Jer 31:33; Eze 14:11; Eze 36:28) 21 But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will[4] bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord God.” (Eze 7:4; Eze 9:4) 22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them. (Eze 10:19) 23 And the glory of the Lord went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain that is on the east side of the city. (Eze 43:2; Zec 14:4) 24 And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen went up from me. (Eze 1:1; Eze 1:3; Eze 3:12; Eze 11:1) 25 And I told the exiles all the things that the Lord had shown me.
