1 At that time the LORD said unto me, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an ark of wood. 2 And I will write on the tables the words that were in the first tables which thou brakest, and thou shalt put them in the ark. 3 And I made an ark of shittim wood, and hewed two tables of stone like unto the first, and went up into the mount, having the two tables in mine hand. 4 And he wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spake unto you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them unto me. 5 And I turned myself and came down from the mount, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they be, as the LORD commanded me. 6 And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priest' office in his stead. 7 From thence they journeyed unto Gudgodah; and from Gudgodah to Jotbath, a land of rivers of waters. 8 At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day. 9 Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD is his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him. 10 And I stayed in the mount, according to the first time, forty days and forty nights; and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, and the LORD would not destroy thee. 11 And the LORD said unto me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them. 12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13 To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? 14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is the LORD' thy God, the earth also , with all that therein is . 15 Only the LORD had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day. 16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked. 17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward: 18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment. 19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. 20 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name. 21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen. 22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now the LORD thy God hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.

1 “At that time the Lord said to me, ‘Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me on the mountain and make an ark of wood. (Ex 25:10; Ex 34:1) 2 And I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets that you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.’ (Ex 25:16; Ex 25:21) 3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up the mountain with the two tablets in my hand. (Ex 25:10; Ex 34:4; Ex 37:1) 4 And he wrote on the tablets, in the same writing as before, the Ten Commandments[1] that the Lord had spoken to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire on the day of the assembly. And the Lord gave them to me. (Ex 20:1; Ex 34:28; De 9:10) 5 Then I turned and came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the ark that I had made. And there they are, as the Lord commanded me.” (Ex 34:29; Ex 40:20; 1Ki 8:9) 6 (The people of Israel journeyed from Beeroth Bene-jaakan[2] to Moserah. There Aaron died, and there he was buried. And his son Eleazar ministered as priest in his place. (Nu 20:28; Nu 33:30; Nu 33:38) 7 From there they journeyed to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with brooks of water. (Nu 33:32) 8 At that time the Lord set apart the tribe of Levi to carry the ark of the covenant of the Lord to stand before the Lord to minister to him and to bless in his name, to this day. (Le 9:22; Nu 3:6; Nu 4:5; Nu 4:15; Nu 6:23; Nu 8:14; Nu 16:9; De 17:12; De 18:5; De 18:7; De 21:5; 1Ch 23:13) 9 Therefore Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers. The Lord is his inheritance, as the Lord your God said to him.) (Nu 18:20) 10 “I myself stayed on the mountain, as at the first time, forty days and forty nights, and the Lord listened to me that time also. The Lord was unwilling to destroy you. (De 9:18; De 9:19; De 9:25) 11 And the Lord said to me, ‘Arise, go on your journey at the head of the people, so that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give them.’ (Ex 32:34; Ex 33:1) 



12 “And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, (De 5:33; De 6:2; De 6:5; De 6:13; Mic 6:8) 13 and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good? (De 6:24; De 7:11) 14 Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it. (Ex 19:5; 1Ki 8:27; 2Ch 6:18; Ne 9:6; Ps 24:1; Ps 115:16; Isa 66:1) 15 Yet the Lord set his heart in love on your fathers and chose their offspring after them, you above all peoples, as you are this day. (De 4:37; De 7:7) 16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn. (De 9:6; De 30:6; Jer 4:4; Ac 7:51) 17 For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who is not partial and takes no bribe. (De 7:21; Jos 22:22; 2Ch 19:7; Ne 9:32; Job 34:19; Ps 136:2; Da 2:47; Da 11:36; Ac 10:34; Ro 2:11; Ga 2:6; Eph 6:9; Col 3:25; 1Pe 1:17; Re 17:14; Re 19:16) 18 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing. (Ex 22:22; De 24:17; Ps 68:5; Ps 146:9) 19 Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. (Ex 22:21; Ex 23:9; Le 19:33) 20 You shall fear the Lord your God. You shall serve him and hold fast to him, and by his name you shall swear. (De 6:13; De 10:12; De 11:22; De 13:4; De 30:20) 21 He is your praise. He is your God, who has done for you these great and terrifying things that your eyes have seen. (2Sa 7:23; Ps 22:3; Ps 106:21; Ps 109:1; Jer 17:14) 22 Your fathers went down to Egypt seventy persons, and now the Lord your God has made you as numerous as the stars of heaven. (Ge 15:5; Ge 46:27; Ex 1:5; De 28:62; Ne 9:23; Ac 7:14)
