Die besiegten Könige

1 Und dies sind die Könige des Landes, welche die Söhne Israels schlugen und deren Land sie einnahmen jenseits des Jordan, gegen Osten, vom Arnonfluss an bis zum Berg Hermon, und die ganze Arava gegen Osten:

2 Sihon, der König der Amoriter, der in Hesbon wohnte und von Aroer an herrschte, das am Ufer des Arnonflusses liegt, und über die Mitte des Tales und über das halbe Gilead und bis an den Jabbokfluss, der die Grenze der Ammoniter ist,

3 und über die Ebene bis an den See Genezareth gegen Osten und bis an das Meer der Arava, nämlich das Salzmeer, gegen Osten, nach Beth-Jesimot hin; und gegen Süden unterhalb der Abhänge des Pisga.

4 Dann das Gebiet Ogs, des Königs von Baschan, von dem Überrest der Rephaiter, der in Astarot und Edrei wohnte,

5 und der über den Berg Hermon und über Salcha und über ganz Baschan herrschte, bis an die Grenze der Geschuriter und Maachiter, und über das halbe Gilead, bis zum Gebiet Sihons, des Königs von Hesbon.

6 Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, und die Söhne Israels schlugen sie. Und Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, gab sie den Rubenitern, Gaditern und dem halben Stamm Manasse zum Besitz.

7 Und dies sind die Könige des Landes, die Josua und die Söhne Israels diesseits des Jordan schlugen, gegen Westen, von Baal-Gad an im Tal des Libanon bis zu dem kahlen Gebirge, das sich gegen Seir erhebt. Und Josua gab es den Stämmen Israels zum Besitz, jedem seinen Teil,

8 im Bergland, in der Schephela, in der Arava, an den Abhängen, in der Wüste und im Negev, die Hetiter, Amoriter, Kanaaniter, Pheresiter, Hewiter und Jebusiter:

9 der König von Jericho; der König von Ai, das bei Bethel liegt;

10 der König von Jerusalem; der König von Hebron;

11 der König von Jarmut; der König von Lachis;

12 der König von Eglon; der König von Geser;

13 der König von Debir; der König von Geder;

14 der König von Horma; der König von Arad;

15 der König von Libna; der König von Adullam;

16 der König von Makkeda; der König von Bethel;

17 der König von Tappuach; der König von Hepher;

18 der König von Aphek; der König von Lascharon;

19 der König von Madon; der König von Hazor;

20 der König von Simron-Meron; der König von Achschaph;

21 der König von Taanach; der König von Megiddo;

22 der König von Kedesch; der König von Jokneam am Karmel;

23 der König von Dor, im Hügelland von Dor; der König von Gojim in Gilgal;

24 der König von Tirza. Zusammen waren es 31 Könige.

Israel wins the battle over the kings in the land

1 The Israelites took over the territory east of the River Jordan. The land they captured reached from the River Arnon valley to Mount Hermon. It included the whole east side of the Arabah Valley. Israel won the battle over the kings of that whole territory. Here are the lands Israel captured from the kings they won the battle over.

2 They took over the land of Sihon. He was the king of the Amorites. He ruled in Heshbon. The land he ruled over begins at Aroer. Aroer is on the rim of the River Arnon valley. Sihon ruled from the middle of the valley to the River Jabbok. The Jabbok is the border of Ammon. Sihon’s territory included half of Gilead.

3 He also ruled over the east side of the Arabah Valley. That land begins at the Sea of Galilee. It goes to the Dead Sea and over to Beth Jeshimoth. Then it goes south, below the slopes of Pisgah.

4 Israel also took over the territory of Og. He was the king of Bashan. He was one of the last of the Rephaites. He ruled in Ashtaroth and Edrei.

5 He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah and the whole land of Bashan. Og’s kingdom reached all the way to the border of Geshur and Maakah. He ruled over half of Gilead. His land reached the border of Sihon, the king of Heshbon.

6 Moses was the servant of the LORD. Moses and the Israelites won the battle over those two kings. He gave their land to the tribes of Reuben and Gad and half of the tribe of Manasseh. He gave it to them as their share.

7 Joshua and the Israelites won the battle over the kings who ruled west of the River Jordan. The lands of those kings reached from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises towards Seir. Joshua gave their lands to the tribes of Israel as their very own. He divided them up and gave each tribe its share.

8 Those lands included the central hill country, the western hills and the Arabah Valley. They also included the mountain slopes, the Desert of Judah and the Negev Desert. Those lands belonged to the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. Here are the kings Israel won the battle over. the king of Jericho one, the king of Ai, which is near Bethel one, the king of Jerusalem one, the king of Hebron one, the king of Jarmuth one, the king of Lachish one, the king of Eglon one, the king of Gezer one, the king of Debir one, the king of Geder one, the king of Hormah one, the king of Arad one, the king of Libnah one, the king of Adullam one, the king of Makkedah one, the king of Bethel one, the king of Tappuah one, the king of Hepher one, the king of Aphek one, the king of Lasharon one, the king of Madon one, the king of Hazor one, the king of Shimron Meron one, the king of Akshaph one, the king of Taanach one, the king of Megiddo one, the king of Kedesh one, the king of Jokneam in Carmel one, the king of Dor in Naphoth Dor one, the king of Goyim in Gilgal one, the king of Tirzah one, The total number of kings was 31.
