1Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Nun sollst du sehen, was ich dem Pharao tun will! Denn durch eine starke Hand gezwungen wird er sie ziehen lassen, und durch eine starke Hand gezwungen wird er sie aus seinem Land treiben.2Und Gott redete mit Mose und sprach zu ihm: Ich bin der HERR;3ich bin Abraham, Isaak und Jakob erschienen als »Gott, der Allmächtige«; aber mit meinem Namen »HERR« habe ich mich ihnen nicht geoffenbart.4Auch habe ich meinen Bund mit ihnen aufgerichtet, dass ich ihnen das Land Kanaan geben will, das Land ihrer Fremdlingschaft, in dem sie Fremdlinge gewesen sind.5Und ich habe auch das Seufzen der Kinder Israels gehört, weil die Ägypter sie zu Knechten machen, und habe an meinen Bund gedacht.6Darum sage den Kindern Israels: Ich bin der HERR, und ich will euch aus den Lasten Ägyptens herausführen und will euch aus ihrer Knechtschaft erretten und will euch erlösen durch einen ausgestreckten Arm und durch große Gerichte.7Und ich will euch als mein Volk annehmen und will euer Gott sein; und ihr sollt erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, euer Gott bin, der euch aus den Lasten Ägyptens herausführt.8Und ich will euch in das Land bringen, um dessentwillen ich meine Hand [zum Schwur] erhoben habe, dass ich es Abraham, Isaak und Jakob gebe. Das will ich euch zum Besitz geben, ich, der HERR.9Und Mose sagte dies den Kindern Israels. Sie aber hörten nicht auf ihn vor Missmut und harter Arbeit.10Da redete der HERR mit Mose und sprach:11Geh hinein, sage dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, dass er die Kinder Israels aus seinem Land ziehen lassen soll!12Mose aber redete vor dem HERRN und sprach: Siehe, die Kinder Israels hören nicht auf mich; wie sollte denn der Pharao auf mich hören? Dazu habe ich unbeschnittene Lippen!13So redete der HERR mit Mose und Aaron und gab ihnen Befehl an die Kinder Israels und an den Pharao, den König von Ägypten, dass sie die Kinder Israels aus dem Land Ägypten führen sollten.

14Dies sind die Häupter ihrer Vaterhäuser: Die Söhne Rubens, des erstgeborenen Sohnes Israels, sind diese: Hanoch und Pallu, Hezron und Karmi. Das sind die Geschlechter von Ruben.15Die Söhne Simeons sind diese: Jemuel und Jamin und Ohad und Jachim und Zohar und Saul, der Sohn der kanaanäischen Frau. Das sind die Geschlechter Simeons.16Dies sind die Namen der Söhne Levis nach ihren Geschlechtern: Gerson und Kahat und Merari; und Levi wurde 137 Jahre alt.17Die Söhne Gersons sind diese: Libni und Simei nach ihren Geschlechtern.18Die Söhne Kahats sind diese: Amram und Jizhar und Hebron und Ussiel. Und Kahat wurde 133 Jahre alt.19Die Söhne Meraris sind diese: Machli und Muschi. Das sind die Geschlechter Levis nach ihrer Abstammung.20Und Amram nahm Jochebed, die Schwester seines Vaters, zur Frau, die gebar ihm Aaron und Mose. Und Amram wurde 137 Jahre alt.21Die Söhne Jizhars sind diese: Korah und Nepheg und Sichri.22Die Söhne Ussiels sind diese: Misael und Elzaphan und Sitri.23Aaron aber nahm Eliseba zur Frau, die Tochter Amminadabs, die Schwester Nachschons; die gebar ihm Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar.24Die Söhne Korahs sind diese: Assir und Elkana und Abiasaph. Das sind die Geschlechter der Korahiter.25Eleasar aber, der Sohn Aarons, nahm sich eine Frau von den Töchtern Putiels, die gebar ihm Pinehas. Das sind die Häupter unter den Vätern der Leviten nach ihren Geschlechtern.26Das ist jener Aaron und jener Mose, zu denen der HERR sprach: Führt die Kinder Israels nach ihren Heerscharen aus dem Land Ägypten!27Sie sind es, die mit dem Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, redeten, um die Kinder Israels aus Ägypten herauszuführen, jener Mose und jener Aaron.

28Und es geschah an demselben Tag, an dem der HERR mit Mose im Land Ägypten redete,29da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Ich bin der HERR, rede zum Pharao, dem König von Ägypten, alles, was ich dir sage!30Und Mose antwortete vor dem HERRN: Siehe, ich habe unbeschnittene Lippen, wie sollte da der Pharao auf mich hören?

1Then the LORD said to Moses, ‘Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh. Because of my powerful hand, he will let the people of Israel go. Because of my mighty hand, he will drive them out of his country.’2God continued, ‘I am the LORD.3I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as the Mighty God. But I did not show them the full meaning of my name, The LORD.4I also made my covenant with them. I promised to give them the land of Canaan. That is where they lived as outsiders.5Also, I have heard the groans of the Israelites. The Egyptians are keeping them as slaves. But I have remembered my covenant.6‘So tell the people of Israel, “I am the LORD. I will throw off the heavy load the Egyptians have put on your shoulders. I will set you free from being slaves to them. I will reach out my arm and save you with mighty acts when I judge Egypt.7I will take you to be my own people. I will be your God. I throw off the load the Egyptians have put on your shoulders. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God.8I will bring you to the land I promised to give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I lifted up my hand and promised it to them. The land will belong to you. I am the LORD.” ’9Moses reported these things to the Israelites. But they didn’t listen to him. That’s because they had lost all hope and had to work very hard.10Then the LORD said to Moses,11‘Go. Tell Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, to let the people of Israel leave his country.’12But Moses said to the LORD, ‘The people won’t listen to me. So why would Pharaoh listen to me? After all, I don’t speak very well.’

13The LORD had spoken to Moses and Aaron. He had talked with them about the Israelites and about Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. He had commanded Moses and Aaron to bring the people of Israel out of Egypt.14Here were the leaders of the family groups of Reuben, Simeon and Levi. Reuben was the eldest son of Israel. Reuben’s sons were Hanok, Pallu, Hezron and Karmi. These were the family groups of Reuben.15The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul. Shaul was the son of a woman from Canaan. These were the family groups of Simeon.16Here are the names of the sons of Levi written in their family record. They were Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived for 137 years.17The sons of Gershon, by their family groups, were Libni and Shimei.18The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived for 133 years.19The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These are the family groups of Levi written in their family record.20Amram married his father’s sister Jochebed. Aaron and Moses were members of Amram’s family line. Amram lived for 137 years.21The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zikri.22The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.23Aaron married Elisheba. She was the daughter of Amminadab and the sister of Nahshon. She had Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar by Aaron.24The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the family groups of Korah.25Eleazar, the son of Aaron, married one of the daughters of Putiel. She had Phinehas by Eleazar. These are the leaders of the families of Levi. Their names are written in their family records.26The LORD had spoken to this same Aaron and Moses. He had told them, ‘Bring the Israelites out of Egypt like an army on the march.’27They spoke to Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, about bringing the people of Israel out of Egypt. It was this same Moses and Aaron.

28The LORD had spoken to Moses in Egypt.29He had told him, ‘I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, everything I tell you.’30But Moses said to the LORD, ‘I don’t speak very well. So why would Pharaoh listen to me?’
