Freiwillige Gaben für das Heiligtum

1 Und Mose versammelte die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israels und sprach zu ihnen: Das sind die Worte, die der HERR geboten hat, dass ihr sie tun sollt:

2 Sechs Tage soll gearbeitet werden, aber der siebte Tag soll euch heilig sein, dass ihr die Sabbatruhe des HERRN feiert. Wer da Arbeit verrichtet, der soll sterben.

3 Am Sabbattag sollt ihr kein Feuer anzünden in allen euren Wohnungen!

4 Mose redete weiter mit der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israels und sprach: Das ist das Wort, das der HERR geboten hat:

5 Bringt aus eurer Mitte eine freiwillige Gabe für den HERRN; jeder, den sein Herz dazu treibt, der soll sie bringen, die freiwillige Gabe für den HERRN, nämlich Gold, Silber und Erz,

6 blauen und roten Purpur und Karmesin, weißes Leinen und Ziegenhaar,

7 rötliche Widderfelle, Seekuhfelle und Akazienholz,

8 und Öl für den Leuchter und Spezerei für das Salböl und für wohlriechendes Räucherwerk,

9 Onyxsteine und Steine zum Besatz für das Ephod und für das Brustschild.

10 Und alle, die unter euch ein weises Herz haben, die sollen kommen und anfertigen, was der HERR geboten hat:

11 Die Wohnung, ihr Zelt und ihre Decke, ihre Klammern und ihre Bretter, ihre Riegel, ihre Säulen und ihre Füße;

12 die Lade mit ihren Tragstangen, den Sühnedeckel und den verhüllenden Vorhang;

13 den Tisch mit seinen Tragstangen und allen seinen Geräten und die Schaubrote;

14 den Leuchter zur Beleuchtung samt seinen Geräten und seinen Lampen und das Öl des Leuchters;

15 den Räucheraltar mit seinen Tragstangen, das Salböl und das wohlriechende Räucherwerk, den Eingangsvorhang für den Eingang der Wohnung;

16 den Brandopferaltar mit seinem ehernen Gitter, mit seinen Tragstangen und allen seinen Geräten, das Becken mit seinem Gestell;

17 die Behänge des Vorhofs mit seinen Säulen und Füßen, und den Vorhang für den Eingang am Vorhof;

18 die Pflöcke der Wohnung und die Pflöcke des Vorhofs mit ihren Seilen;

19 die Dienstkleider zum Dienst im Heiligtum, die heiligen Kleider Aarons, des Priesters, und die Kleider seiner Söhne, für den priesterlichen Dienst.

20 Da ging die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israels von Mose hinweg.

21 Und sie kamen — jeder, den sein Herz dazu trieb, und jeder, dessen Geist willig war; sie brachten dem HERRN eine freiwillige Gabe für das Werk der Stiftshütte und seinen ganzen Dienst und für die heiligen Kleider.

22 Es kamen aber die Männer samt den Frauen, alle, die willigen Herzens waren, und sie brachten Nasenringe, Ohrringe und Fingerringe und Halsketten und allerlei goldene Geräte; alle, die dem HERRN Gold als freiwillige Gabe brachten.

23 Und wer bei sich blauen und roten Purpur fand und Karmesin und Leinen und Ziegenhaar und rötliche Widderfelle und Seekuhfelle, der brachte es.

24 Und wer Silber und Erz als freiwillige Gabe darbringen wollte, der brachte es als freiwillige Gabe für den HERRN. Und wer Akazienholz bei sich fand, der brachte es für jegliche Arbeit des Dienstes.

25 Und alle Frauen, die ein weises Herz hatten, spannen mit ihren Händen und brachten das Gesponnene, [Garne] von blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und von feinem Leinen.

26 Und die Frauen, die ihr Herz dazu trieb und die verständigen Sinnes waren, die spannen das Ziegenhaar.

27 Die Fürsten aber brachten Onyxsteine und Steine zum Besatz für das Ephod und für das Brustschild,

28 und Spezerei und Öl für den Leuchter und für das Salböl und für das wohlriechende Räucherwerk.

29 So brachten die Kinder Israels dem HERRN eine freiwillige Gabe — alle Männer und Frauen, die willigen Herzens waren, zu all dem Werk beizutragen, das der HERR durch Mose auszuführen befohlen hatte.

Die von Gottes Geist begabten Werkleute

30 Da sprach Mose zu den Kindern Israels: Seht, der HERR hat Bezaleel mit Namen berufen, den Sohn Uris, des Sohnes Hurs, vom Stamm Juda,

31 und hat ihn mit dem Geist Gottes erfüllt, mit Weisheit und Verstand und Erkenntnis und mit Geschicklichkeit für jede Arbeit,

32 um Kunstwerke zu ersinnen und sie auszuführen in Gold und in Silber und in Erz,

33 und um Steine zum Besatz zu bearbeiten, und um Holz zu schnitzen, sodass er Kunstwerke aller Art ausführen kann.

34 Auch hat er ihm ins Herz gegeben, dass er [andere] unterweisen kann; ihm und Oholiab, dem Sohn Ahisamachs, vom Stamm Dan.

35 Er hat sie mit Weisheit des Herzens erfüllt, damit sie jegliches Werk eines Künstlers machen können, und eines Kunstwebers und Buntwirkers in [Garnen von] blauem und rotem Purpur und Karmesin und Leinen, und eines Webers, damit sie jegliche Arbeit ausführen und Kunstwerke ersinnen können.

Rules for the Sabbath day

1 Moses gathered the whole community of Israel together. He said to them, ‘Here are the things the LORD has commanded you to do.

2 You must do your work in six days. But the seventh day will be your holy day. It will be a day of sabbath rest to honour the LORD. You must rest on it. Anyone who does any work on it must be put to death.

3 Do not even light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day.’

Supplies for the holy tent

4 Moses spoke to the whole community of Israel. He said, ‘Here is what the LORD has commanded.

5 Take an offering for the LORD from what you have. Those who want to can bring an offering to the LORD. Here is what they can bring. ‘gold, silver and bronze

6 blue, purple and bright red yarn and fine linen goat hair

7 ram skins that are dyed red another kind of strong leather acacia wood

8 olive oil for the lights spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense

9 onyx stones and other jewels for the linen apron and the chest cloth

10 ‘All the skilled workers among you must come. They must make everything the LORD has commanded

11 for the holy tent and its covering. Here is what they must make. ‘hooks, frames, crossbars, posts and bases

12 the ark of the covenant law, the poles and cover for the ark, and the curtain that hides the ark

13 the table for the holy bread, the poles and all the things for the table, and the holy bread

14 the lampstand for light and everything used with it, the lamps, and the olive oil that gives light

15 the altar for burning incense, the poles for the altar, the anointing oil and the sweet-smelling incense the curtain for the entrance to the holy tent

16 the altar for burnt offerings with its bronze grate, its poles and all its tools the large bronze bowl with its stand

17 the curtains of the courtyard with their posts and bases, and the curtain for the entrance to the courtyard

18 the ropes and tent stakes for the holy tent and for the courtyard

19 and the sacred clothes for Aaron the priest and the clothes for his sons when they serve as priests’

20 Then the whole community of Israel left Moses.

21 Everyone who wanted to give offerings to the LORD brought them to him. The offerings were for the work on the tent of meeting. They were also for the sacred clothes and for any other purpose at the tent.

22 Every man and woman who wanted to give came. They brought gold jewellery of all kinds. They brought pins, earrings, rings and other jewellery. All of them gave their gold as a wave offering to the LORD.

23 People brought what they had. They brought blue, purple or bright red yarn or fine linen. They brought goat hair, ram skins dyed red, or the other kind of strong leather.

24 Some brought silver or bronze as an offering to the LORD. Others brought acacia wood for any part of the work.

25 All the skilled women spun yarn with their hands. They brought blue, purple or bright red yarn or fine linen.

26 All the skilled women who wanted to spin the goat hair did so.

27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other jewels for the linen apron and the chest cloth.

28 They also brought spices and olive oil. They brought them for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the sweet-smelling incense.

29 All the men and women of Israel who wanted to bring offerings to the LORD brought them to him. The offerings were for all the work the LORD had commanded Moses to tell them to do.

Bezalel and Oholiab

30 Then Moses spoke to the people of Israel. He said, ‘The LORD has chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri. Uri is the son of Hur. Bezalel is from the tribe of Judah.

31 The LORD has filled him with the Spirit of God. He has filled him with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skill.

32 Bezalel can make beautiful patterns in gold, silver and bronze.

33 He can cut and set stones. He can work with wood. In fact, he can work in all kinds of arts and crafts.

34 And the LORD has given both him and Oholiab the ability to teach others. Oholiab, the son of Ahisamak, is from the tribe of Dan.

35 The LORD has filled Bezalel and Oholiab with skill to do all kinds of work. They can carve things and make patterns. They can sew skilfully with blue, purple and bright red yarn and on fine linen. They use thread to make beautiful cloth. Both of them have the skill to work in all kinds of crafts.
