1 Cuvântul spus lui Ieremia din partea DOMNULUI: 2 „Așa vorbește DOMNUL, Dumnezeul lui Israel: «Scrie într‑un sul toate cuvintele pe care ți le‑am spus. 3 Căci iată, vin zile, zice DOMNUL, când îi voi aduce înapoi pe captivii poporului Meu, Israel și Iuda. Îi voi aduce înapoi în țara pe care le‑am dat‑o părinților lor și o vor stăpâni.»“ 4 Acestea sunt cuvintele pe care DOMNUL le‑a rostit cu privire la Israel și Iuda: 5 „Da, așa vorbește DOMNUL: «Auzim un strigăt de spaimă, de groază, și nu de pace. 6 Întrebați și luați aminte! Poate un bărbat să nască? Atunci de ce‑i văd pe toți bărbații cu mâinile pe coapse, ca o femeie în durerile nașterii? De ce au pălit? 7 Vai, ce îngrozitoare va fi ziua aceea! N‑a mai fost niciodată vreuna ca ea! Va fi o vreme de necaz pentru Iacov, dar Iacov va fi izbăvit din ea. 8 În ziua aceea, zice DOMNUL Oștirilor, voi sfărâma jugul de pe gâtul lor, le voi rupe legăturile și străinii nu îi vor mai înrobi. 9 În schimb, vor sluji DOMNULUI, Dumnezeul lor, și împăratului lor David, pe care li‑l voi ridica. 10 Dar tu, robul Meu Iacov, nu te teme, zice DOMNUL; nu te înspăimânta, Israel! Căci iată, te voi izbăvi din teritoriul îndepărtat și‑ți voi izbăvi sămânța din țara în care este captivă. Iacov se va întoarce, va avea odihnă și liniște și nimeni nu‑l va mai îngrozi, 11 căci Eu sunt cu tine ca să te izbăvesc zice DOMNUL. Voi mistui toate neamurile printre care te‑am risipit, dar pe tine nu te voi mistui. Te voi disciplina însă cu dreptate; nu pot să te las nepedepsit.»“ 12 Așa vorbește DOMNUL: „Lovitura ta este de nevindecat și rana ta este incurabilă. 13 Nu este nimeni care să‑ți apere cauza, nu este nicio doctorie pentru rana ta și niciun mijloc de vindecare. 14 Toți iubiții tăi te‑au uitat și niciunuia nu‑i mai pasă de tine. Te‑am lovit așa cum lovește un dușman și te‑am disciplinat ca un om nemilos pentru că nelegiuirea ta este așa de mare, iar păcatele tale atât de numeroase. 15 De ce te plângi de rana ta, de durerea ta ce nu are vindecare? Ți‑am făcut aceste lucruri din cauză că nelegiuirea ta este atât de mare, iar păcatele tale atât de numeroase. 16 Totuși, toți cei ce te devorează vor fi devorați; toți vrăjmașii tăi, toți, vor fi duși în captivitate. Cei ce te jefuiesc vor fi jefuiți și pe toți cei ce te prădează îi voi da Eu ca pradă. 17 Pe tine însă te voi vindeca și‑ți voi lega rănile, zice DOMNUL, pentru că ești numit«Cel alungat», «Sionul de care nimănui nu‑i pasă.»“ 18 Așa vorbește DOMNUL: „Iată, îi voi aduce înapoi pe exilații corturilor lui Iacov și voi avea milă de locuințele lui. Fiecare cetate va fi rezidită pe ruinele ei și fiecare citadelă va sta din nou în locul ei de odinioară. 19 Din mijlocul lor se vor înălța mulțumiri și strigăte de bucurie. Îi voi înmulți și nu se vor împuțina; îi voi onora și nu vor fi dezonorați. 20 Fiii lor vor fi ca în vremurile de odinioară și comunitatea lor va fi restabilită înaintea Mea; îi voi pedepsi pe toți asupritorii lor. 21 Liderul lor va fi unul de‑al lor și conducătorul lor va ieși din mijlocul lor. Îl voi apropia Eu de Mine și‑Mi va fi aproape, căci altfel cine și‑ar putea dărui inima pentru a fi aproape de Mine, zice DOMNUL? 22 Voi veți fi poporul Meu și Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru.“ 23 Iată furtuna DOMNULUI! Mânia izbucnește și vijelia se năpustește asupra capului celor răi. 24 Mânia aprigă a DOMNULUI nu se va potoli până nu va împlini și înfăptui planurile inimii Sale. 1 A message from the LORD came to Jeremiah. The LORD said, 2 ‘I am the LORD. I am the God of Israel. I say, “Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. 3 A new day is coming,” ’ announces the LORD. ‘ “At that time I will bring my people Israel and Judah back from where they have been taken as prisoners. I will bring them back to this land. I gave it to their people of long ago to have as their own,” ’ says the LORD. 4 Here are the words the LORD spoke about Israel and Judah. He said, 5 ‘I am the LORD. I say, ‘ “Cries of fear are heard. There is terror. There isn’t any peace. 6 Ask and see. Can a man give birth to children? Then why do I see every strong man with his hands on his stomach? Each of them is acting like a woman having a baby. Every face is as pale as death. 7 How awful that day will be! No other day will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for the people of Jacob. But they will be saved out of it. 8 ‘ “At that time I will break the yoke off their necks,” announces the LORD who rules over all. “I will tear off the ropes that hold them. People from other lands will not make them slaves anymore. 9 Instead, they will serve me. And they will serve David their king. I will raise him up for them. I am the LORD their God. 10 ‘ “People of Jacob, do not be afraid. You are my servant. Israel, do not be terrified,” ’ announces the LORD. ‘ “You can be sure that I will save you. I will bring you out of a place far away. I will bring your children back from the land where they were taken. Your people will have peace and security again. And no one will make them afraid. 11 I am with you. I will save you,” ’ announces the LORD. ‘ “I will completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you. But I will not completely destroy you. I will correct you. But I will be fair. I will not let you go without any punishment.” ’ 12 The LORD says, ‘Your wound can’t be cured. Your pain can’t be healed. 13 No one will stand up for you. There isn’t any medicine for your sore. There isn’t any healing for you. 14 All those who were going to help you have forgotten you. They do not care about you. I have struck you as if I were your enemy. I have punished you as if I were very mean. That is because your guilt is so great. You have sinned so much. 15 Why do you cry out about your wound? Your pain can’t be healed. Your guilt is very great. And you have committed many sins. That is why I have done all these things to you. 16 ‘But everyone who destroys you will be destroyed. All your enemies will be forced to leave their countries. Those who steal from you will be stolen from. I will take the belongings of those who take things from you. 17 But I will make you healthy again. I will heal your wounds,’ announces the LORD. ‘That’s because you have been thrown out. You are called Zion, the one no one cares about.’ 18 The LORD says, ‘I will bless Jacob’s people with great success again. I will show tender love to Israel. Jerusalem will be rebuilt where it was destroyed. The palace will stand in its proper place. 19 From those places the songs of people giving thanks will be heard. The sound of great joy will come from there. I will cause there to be more of my people. There will not be fewer of them. I will bring them honour. People will have respect for them. 20 Things will be as they used to be for Jacob’s people. I will make their community firm and secure. I will punish everyone who treats them badly. 21 Their leader will be one of their own people. Their ruler will rise up from among them. I will bring him near. And he will come close to me. He will commit himself to serve me,’ announces the LORD. 22 ‘So you will be my people. And I will be your God.’ 23 A storm will burst out because of the LORD’s great anger. A strong wind will sweep down on the heads of evil people. 24 The LORD’s great anger won’t turn back. He will accomplish everything his heart plans to do. In days to come you will understand this.
