1Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.2And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of rushing waters and like a loud peal of thunder. The sound I heard was like that of harpists playing their harps.3And they sang a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders. No-one could learn the song except the 144,000 who had been redeemed from the earth.4These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they remained virgins. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among mankind and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb.5No lie was found in their mouths; they are blameless.
The three angels
6Then I saw another angel flying in mid-air, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth – to every nation, tribe, language and people.7He said in a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.’8A second angel followed and said, ‘ “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great,” which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.’9A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: ‘If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand,10they, too, will drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulphur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb.11And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.’12This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.13Then I heard a voice from heaven say, ‘Write this: blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.’ ‘Yes,’ says the Spirit, ‘they will rest from their labour, for their deeds will follow them.’
Harvesting the earth and trampling the winepress
14I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one like a son of man* with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.15Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, ‘Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’16So he who was seated on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.17Another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he too had a sharp sickle.18Still another angel, who had charge of the fire, came from the altar and called in a loud voice to him who had the sharp sickle, ‘Take your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of grapes from the earth’s vine, because its grapes are ripe.’19The angel swung his sickle on the earth, gathered its grapes and threw them into the great winepress of God’s wrath.20They were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed out of the press, rising as high as the horses’ bridles for a distance of 1,600 stadia.*

1آنگاه برّه را ديدم كه در اورشليم بر كوه صهيون ايستاده است. همراه او صد و چهل و چهار هزار نفر بودند كه بر پيشانیشان نام او و نام پدر او نوشته شده بود.2آنگاه، صدايی از آسمان شنيدم كه مانند ريزش آبشار و غرش رعد بود، اما در عين حال به نغمهٔ چنگنوازان نيز شباهت داشت.3اين گروه، در برابر تخت خدا و در مقابل آن چهار موجود زنده و بيست و چهار رهبر روحانی سرودی تازه میخواندند. اين سرود را كسی نمیتوانست بخواند، مگر آن صد و چهل و چهار هزار نفر كه از تمام دنيا بازخريد و آزاد شده بودند.4آنان خود را با گناهان اين دنيا آلوده نكردهاند، بلكه مثل باكره پاک هستند و هر جا برّه میرود، او را دنبال میكنند. اين اشخاص از بين مردم خريداری شدهاند تا به عنوان هديهٔ مقدس به خدا و بره تقديم شوند.5ايشان پاک و بیعيب هستند و حتی يک دروغ از دهانشان خارج نشده است.
سه فرشتهٔ
6در اين هنگام، فرشتهٔ ديگری را ديدم كه در وسط آسمان پرواز میكرد و پيغام شاد انجيل جاودانی را برای اهالی زمين میبرد تا به گوش هر قوم و قبيله، از هر زبان و نژاد برساند.7فرشته با صدای بلند میگفت: «خدا را احترام و تمجيد كنيد، زيرا وقت آن رسيده است كه مردم را داوری كند. او را بپرستيد كه آسمان و زمين و دريا و چشمهها را آفريده است.»8سپس فرشتهٔ ديگری را ديدم كه به دنبال او آمد و گفت: «بابِل، آن شهر بزرگ ويران شد، زيرا تمام قومهای دنيا را فاسد میكرد و آنها را وا میداشت تا از شراب فساد و هرزگی او مست شوند.»9سپس فرشتهٔ سوم آمد و فرياد زد: «كسانی كه آن جانور و مجسمهاش را بپرستند و علامت مخصوص او را بر پيشانی يا دست خود بگذارند،10جام غضب و مكافات خدا را كه در آن هيچ تخفيف و استثنائی نيست، خواهند نوشيد و در حضور فرشتگان مقدس و ”برّه“، در شعلههای آتش عذاب خواهند كشيد.11دود آتشی كه ايشان را عذاب میدهد تا ابد بالا میرود، به طوری كه شب و روز آسايش نخواهند داشت، زيرا آن جانور و مجسمهاش را پرستيدند و علامت نام او را بر بدن خود گذاشتند.12پس بگذاريد خلق خدا نااميد نشوند و هرگونه آزار و اذيت را تحمل كرده، دستورهای خدا را اطاعت نمايند و ايمان خود را به عيسی نگاه دارند.»13آنگاه، صدايی از آسمان شنيدم كه به من میگفت: «اين را بنويس: خوشا به حال كسانی كه در راه مسيح شهيد شدهاند. زيرا روح خدا میگويد: حالا ديگر از تمام دردها آسوده میشوند، و به خاطر كارهای خوبی كه كردهاند پاداش میگيرند.»
زمين آمادهٔ داوری است
14سپس همينطور كه نگاه میكردم، ابری سفيد ديدم كه يک نفر شبيه انسان بر آن نشسته است. بر سر او، تاجی زرّين و در دستش داس تيزی به چشم میخورد.15فرشتهٔ ديگری از درگاه خداوند آمد و به كسی كه بر ابر نشسته بود، با صدای بلند گفت: «داس را به كار بينداز و درو كن، چون وقت درو است و محصول زمين رسيده است.»16پس او كه بر ابر نشسته بود، داس خود را به كار انداخت و محصول زمين درو شد.17پس از آن، فرشتهٔ ديگری از درگاه خداوند در آسمان، سر رسيد. او نيز داس تيزی در دست داشت.18درست در همين وقت، فرشتهای ديگر از قربانگاه بيرون آمد كه قدرت و اختيار آتش در دست او بود. او به فرشتهای كه داس در دست داشت گفت: «حالا داست را به كار انداز تا خوشهها را از تاک زمين بچينی، چون انگورهايش رسيده و برای داوری آماده شده است.»19پس آن فرشته، زمين را با داسش درو كرد و انگورها را در ظرف بزرگ غضب خدا ريخت.20انگورها را در داخل آن ظرف كه در خارج شهر بود، با پا آنقدر فشردند تا رودی از خون جاری شد كه طولش ۱,۶۰۰ تير پرتاب بود و ارتفاعش به دهنهٔ يک اسب میرسيد.
