Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.

1 I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips. 2 I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice. 3 Glorify the Lord with me: let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame. 6 This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them. 8 Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him. 9 Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing. 10 The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. 11 Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12 Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, 13 keep your tongue from evil and your lips from telling lies. 14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry; 16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to blot out their name from the earth. 17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. 18 The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. 19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all; 20 he protects all his bones, not one of them will be broken. 21 Evil will slay the wicked; the foes of the righteous will be condemned. 22 The Lord will rescue his servants; no-one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

در ستايش نيكويی خداوند

1 در هر زمانی خداوند را ستايش خواهم كرد؛ شكر و سپاس او پيوسته بر زبانم جاری خواهد بود. 2 جان من به وجود خداوند فخر میكند؛ اشخاص فروتن و افتاده اين را خواهند شنيد و خوشحال خواهند شد. 3 بياييد با من عظمت خداوند را اعلام كنيد؛ بياييد با هم نام او را ستايش كنيم! 4 خداوند را به كمک طلبيدم و او مرا اجابت فرمود و مرا از همهٔ ترسهايم رها ساخت. 5 مظلومان به سوی او نظر كردند و خوشحال شدند؛ آنها هرگز سرافكنده نخواهند شد. 6 اين حقير فرياد برآورد و خداوند صدای او را شنيد و او را از همهٔ مشكلاتش رهانيد. 7 فرشتهٔ خداوند دور آنانی كه از خداوند میترسند و او را گرامی میدارند حلقه میزند و ايشان را از خطر میرهاند. 8 بياييد امتحان كنيد و ببينيد كه خداوند نيكوست! خوشا به حال كسانی كه به او پناه میبرند! 9 ای همهٔ عزيزان خداوند، او را گرامی بداريد؛ زيرا كسانی كه ترس و احترام او را در دل دارند هرگز محتاج و درمانده نخواهند شد. 10 شيرها نيز گرسنگی میكشند، اما طالبان خداوند از هيچ نعمتی بیبهره نيستند. 11 ای جوانان، بياييد تا به شما درس خداترسی ياد بدهم. به من گوش كنيد! 12 آيا میخواهيد زندگی خوب و عمر طولانی داشته باشيد؟ 13 پس، زبانتان را از بدی و دروغ حفظ كنيد. 14 بلی، از بدی دوری كنيد و نيكويی و آرامش را پيشهٔ خود سازيد. 15 خداوند از نيكوكاران مراقبت میكند و به فرياد ايشان گوش میدهد. 16 اما او بر ضد بدكاران است و سرانجام، اثر آنها را از روی زمين محو خواهد ساخت. 17 نيكان فرياد برآوردند و خداوند صدای ايشان را شنيد و آنها را از تمام سختيهايشان رهانيد. 18 خداوند نزديک دلشكستگان است؛ او آنانی را كه اميد خود را از دست دادهاند، نجات میبخشد. 19 مشكلات انسانِ خوب زياد است، اما خداوند او را از همهٔ مشكلاتش میرهاند. 20 خداوند تمام استخوانهای او را حفظ میكند و نمیگذارد حتی يكی از آنها شكسته شود. 21 شرارت آدم شرور او را خواهد كشت؛ كسانی كه از نيكان نفرت دارند، محكوم و مجازات خواهند شد. 22 خداوند جان خدمتگزاران خود را نجات میدهد؛ كسانی كه به او پناه میبرند، محكوم و مجازات نخواهند شد.
