1 Praise the Lord.* Blessed are those who fear the Lord, who find great delight in his commands. 2 Their children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches are in their houses, and their righteousness endures for ever. 4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous. 5 Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice. 6 Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered for ever. 7 They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. 8 Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear; in the end they will look in triumph on their foes. 9 They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor, their righteousness endures for ever; their horn* will be lifted high in honour. 10 The wicked will see and be vexed, they will gnash their teeth and waste away; the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

خوشبختی درستكاران

1 خداوند را سپاس باد! خوشا به حال كسی كه از خداوند میترسد و احكام او را با رغبت انجام میدهد. 2 فرزندان شخص درستكار در دنيا نيرومند خواهند شد و نسل او بركت خواهند يافت. 3 خانوادهاش صاحب مال و ثروت خواهد شد و خوبیهای او هرگز از ياد نخواهد رفت. 4 برای كسی كه درستكار و بخشنده، مهربان و نيكوكار است، حتی در تاريكی شب نيز نور طلوع میكند. 5 خوشبخت است كسی كه دلسوز و قرض دهنده باشد و در كسب و كارش با انصاف باشد. 6 او در زندگی پيوسته ثابت قدم و پايدار خواهد بود و نام نيكش هميشه در يادها باقی خواهد ماند. 7 او از شنيدن خبر بد نمیترسد، زيرا ايمان او قوی است و بر خداوند توكل دارد. 8 او نگران نمیشود و نمیترسد زيرا مطمئن است كه شكست دشمنانش را خواهد ديد. 9 با سخاوتمندی به فقيران میبخشد؛ اثرات نيكوكاری او تا ابد باقی میماند و هميشه نزد مردم سربلند و محترم میباشد. 10 بدكاران اين را میبينند و خشمگين میشوند؛ دندانهای خود را به هم میفشارند و همراه آرزوهايشان از بين میروند.
