1Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.2You have made the city a heap of rubble, the fortified town a ruin, the foreigners’ stronghold a city no more; it will never be rebuilt.3Therefore strong peoples will honour you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you.4You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat. For the breath of the ruthless is like a storm driving against a wall5and like the heat of the desert. You silence the uproar of foreigners; as heat is reduced by the shadow of a cloud, so the song of the ruthless is stilled.6On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare a feast of rich food for all peoples, a banquet of aged wine – the best of meats and the finest of wines.7On this mountain he will destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations;8he will swallow up death for ever. The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The Lord has spoken.9In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’10The hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain; but Moab will be trampled in their land as straw is trampled down in the manure.11They will stretch out their hands in it, as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim. God will bring down their pride despite the cleverness* of their hands.12He will bring down your high fortified walls and lay them low; he will bring them down to the ground, to the very dust.

1ای خداوند، تو را ستايش میكنم و نامت را گرامی میدارم، چون تو خدای من هستی. تو كارهای شگفتانگيز كردهای و آنچه را كه از قديم اراده نمودهای در كمال درستی و امانت به انجام رسانيدهای.2شهرها را با خاک يكسان كردهای و قلعههای مستحكم را از بين بردهای. كاخهای دشمنان ما ويران شدهاند و هرگز بنا نخواهند شد.3بنابراين، قويترين قومهای جهان تو را خواهند پرستيد و ظالمترين قومها از تو خواهند ترسيد.4ای خداوند، تو برای فقيران و بیكسان به هنگام سختی پناهگاه هستی، در برابر طوفان سر پناه، و در گرمای روز سايه. نفس ستمگران مانند سيلابی است كه بر ديوار گلی يورش میبرد5و همچون گرمايی است كه زمين را میسوزاند. اما تو، ای خداوند، صدای دشمنان ما را خاموش كردی، و مانند ابری كه گرمای روز را كاهش میدهد، سرود ستمگران را خاموش ساختی.
ضيافت خداوند
6خداوند قادر متعال در اورشليم، بر كوه صهيون، ضيافتی برای تمام قومهای جهان بر پا خواهد كرد و سفرهای رنگين با انواع غذاهای لذيذ و شرابهای كهنهٔ گوارا خواهد گستراند.7در آنجا او ابر تيره را كه بر تمام مردم دنيا سايه افكنده است كنار خواهد زد8و مرگ را برای هميشه نابود خواهد كرد. خداوند اشكها را از چشمها پاک خواهد كرد و ننگ قوم خود را از روی تمام زمين برخواهد داشت. اين را خداوند فرموده است.9در آن روز، مردم خواهند گفت: «اين همان خدای ماست كه بر او اميد بسته بوديم. اين همان خداوند ماست كه منتظرش بوديم. اينک او ما را نجات داده است، پس بياييد برای اين نجات شاد و مسرور باشيم.»
خداوند موآب را مجازات خواهد كرد
10دست خداوند كوه صهيون را حفظ خواهد كرد، اما مردم موآب زير پای او له خواهند شد همانگونه كه كاه در گنداب له میشود.11آنها دستهای خود را مثل شناگران، با مهارت باز خواهند كرد تا شنا كنند، اما خدا دستهايشان را سست خواهد كرد و غرور آنها را در هم خواهد شكست.12او قلعههای موآب را با حصارهای بلندشان در هم كوبيده، بر زمين خواهد ريخت و با خاک يكسان خواهد كرد.
