1The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying,2Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Ye have seen all the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, and upon all the cities of Judah; and, behold, this day they are a desolation, and no man dwelleth therein,3Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, and to serve other gods, whom they knew not, neither they, ye, nor your fathers.4Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them , saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.5But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense unto other gods.6Wherefore my fury and mine anger was poured forth, and was kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as at this day.7Therefore now thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great evil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;8In that ye provoke me unto wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might cut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?9Have ye forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem?10They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in my law, nor in my statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers.11Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.12And I will take the remnant of Judah, that have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, and they shall all be consumed, and fall in the land of Egypt; they shall even be consumed by the sword and by the famine: they shall die, from the least even unto the greatest, by the sword and by the famine: and they shall be an execration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach.13For I will punish them that dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence:14So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return to dwell there: for none shall return but such as shall escape.15Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,16As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.17But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.18But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things , and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.19And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?20Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,21The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember them, and came it not into his mind?22So that the LORD could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.23Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.24Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:25Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.26Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.27Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.28Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah, and all the remnant of Judah, that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall know whose words shall stand, mine, or theirs.29And this shall be a sign unto you, saith the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, that ye may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil:30Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give Pharaohhophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies, and into the hand of them that seek his life; as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, his enemy, and that sought his life.

1Dies ist das Wort, das an Jeremia erging betreffs aller Juden, die im Land Ägypten wohnten, in Migdol und Tachpanches, in Noph und im Land Patros:2So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Ihr habt all das Unheil gesehen, das ich über Jerusalem und alle Städte Judas gebracht habe; und siehe, sie sind heute Ruinen, und es wohnt niemand darin,3um der Bosheit willen, die sie begangen haben, um mich zu erzürnen, indem sie hingegangen sind und anderen Göttern räucherten und dienten, die sie nicht kannten, weder sie, noch ihr, noch eure Väter,4obwohl ich alle meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt habe, indem ich mich früh aufmachte und sie [immer wieder] sandte und euch sagen ließ: Begeht doch diesen Gräuel nicht, den ich hasse!5Sie aber wollten nicht hören und neigten ihr Ohr nicht, dass sie von ihrer Bosheit umgekehrt wären und nicht mehr fremden Göttern geräuchert hätten.6Darum hat sich mein Grimm ergossen und ist mein Zorn gegen die Städte Judas und die Straßen Jerusalems entbrannt, sodass sie zu Trümmern und Ruinen geworden sind, wie es heute der Fall ist.7Und nun, so spricht der HERR, der Gott der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Warum begeht ihr ein so großes Übel gegen euch selbst, indem ihr euch Männer und Frauen, Kinder und Säuglinge aus Juda ausrottet, sodass euch kein Überrest mehr bleiben wird,8dadurch nämlich, dass ihr mich durch die Werke eurer Hände erzürnt, indem ihr anderen Göttern räuchert im Land Ägypten, wohin ihr gegangen seid, um euch dort aufzuhalten, euch selbst zum Verderben, und damit ihr zum Fluch- und Schimpfwort werdet unter allen Heidenvölkern der Erde?9Habt ihr denn die Übeltaten eurer Väter vergessen und die Übeltaten der Könige von Juda und die Übeltaten ihrer Frauen und eure eigenen Übeltaten und die Übeltaten, die eure Frauen im Land Juda und auf den Straßen von Jerusalem begangen haben?10Sie sind noch nicht gedemütigt bis zum heutigen Tag; sie fürchten sich nicht und wandeln nicht in meinem Gesetz und in meinen Ordnungen, die ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe!11Darum, so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich richte mein Angesicht gegen euch zum Unheil, und zwar um ganz Juda auszurotten.12Und ich werde den Überrest von Juda hinwegraffen, sie, die ihr Angesicht darauf gerichtet haben, in das Land Ägypten hinzugehen und sich dort als Fremdlinge aufzuhalten. Sie sollen alle im Land Ägypten aufgerieben werden, durchs Schwert fallen, durch Hunger aufgerieben werden, vom Kleinsten bis zum Größten; durch das Schwert oder durch den Hunger sollen sie sterben, und sie sollen zum Fluch, zum Entsetzen, zur Verwünschung und zur Beschimpfung werden!13So will ich die, welche im Land Ägypten wohnen, heimsuchen, wie ich Jerusalem mit Schwert, Hungersnot und Pest heimgesucht habe.14Und von dem Überrest von Juda, der in das Land Ägypten gekommen ist, um sich dort als Fremdlinge aufzuhalten, wird niemand übrig bleiben noch entkommen, um wieder ins Land Juda zurückzukehren, wie sie sich vorgenommen haben, sich wieder dort anzusiedeln; sie werden nicht zurückkehren, außer einigen Entkommenen!
Das Volk beharrt auf seinen Götzendienst
15Da antworteten dem Jeremia alle Männer, die wussten, dass ihre Frauen fremden Göttern räucherten, und alle Frauen, die dastanden, eine große Gemeinde, auch das ganze Volk, das im Land Ägypten, in Patros wohnte, und sie sprachen:16Was das Wort angeht, das du im Namen des HERRN zu uns geredet hast, so wollen wir nicht auf dich hören;17sondern wir wollen gewisslich alles das tun, was wir gelobt haben: Wir wollen der Himmelskönigin räuchern und ihr Trankopfer ausgießen, wie wir, unsere Väter, unsere Könige und unsere Fürsten es in den Städten Judas und auf den Straßen Jerusalems getan haben; damals hatten wir Brot in Fülle, und es ging uns gut, und wir erlebten kein Unheil!18Sobald wir aber aufhörten, der Himmelskönigin zu räuchern und Trankopfer auszugießen, hat es uns überall gefehlt, und wir wurden durch Schwert und Hungersnot aufgerieben.19Und wenn wir der Himmelskönigin räuchern und Trankopfer ausgießen, tun wir das etwa ohne den Willen unserer Männer, dass wir ihr Kuchen backen, um sie abzubilden, und ihr Trankopfer spenden?20Da redete Jeremia zu dem ganzen Volk, zu den Männern und Frauen und zu allen Leuten, die ihm so geantwortet hatten, und sprach:21Hat etwa der HERR nicht an das Räuchern gedacht, das ihr und eure Väter und eure Könige und eure Fürsten samt dem Volk des Landes in den Städten Judas und auf den Straßen Jerusalems dargebracht habt? Er hat daran gedacht, und es ist ihm in den Sinn gekommen!22Ja, der HERR konnte es nicht länger ertragen, angesichts der Bosheit eurer Taten, angesichts der Gräuel, die ihr verübtet; darum ist euer Land zur Wüste und zum Entsetzen und zum Fluch geworden, unbewohnt, wie es heute der Fall ist.23Weil ihr geräuchert und gegen den HERRN gesündigt habt und nicht auf die Stimme des HERRN gehört habt und nicht in seinem Gesetz, in seinen Ordnungen und in seinen Zeugnissen gewandelt seid, deshalb ist euch dieses Unheil begegnet, wie es heute der Fall ist!24Weiter sprach Jeremia zu dem ganzen Volk, auch zu allen Frauen: Hört das Wort des HERRN, ihr Juden alle, die ihr im Land Ägypten seid!25So spricht der HERR der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels: Ihr und eure Frauen habt mit eurem eigenen Mund gesagt und mit euren eigenen Händen erfüllt, was ihr sagtet: »Wir wollen unbedingt unsere Gelübde erfüllen, die wir der Himmelskönigin gelobt haben, wir wollen ihr räuchern und Trankopfer ausgießen!« Haltet eure Gelübde nur aufrecht und erfüllt doch, was ihr gelobt habt!26Darum hört das Wort des HERRN, ihr Juden alle, die ihr im Land Ägypten wohnt: Siehe, ich habe bei meinem großen Namen geschworen, spricht der HERR, dass mein Name nie mehr durch den Mund irgendeines Mannes aus Juda im ganzen Land Ägypten genannt werden soll, sodass einer spräche: So wahr GOTT, der Herr, lebt!27Siehe, ich werde über sie wachen zum Unheil und nicht zum Guten, und alle Männer von Juda im Land Ägypten sollen durch Schwert und Hunger aufgerieben werden, bis sie vernichtet sind.28Es wird zwar ein zählbares Häuflein, die dem Schwert entkommen, aus dem Land Ägypten ins Land Juda zurückkehren; aber der ganze Überrest von Juda, der in das Land Ägypten gekommen ist, um sich dort aufzuhalten, wird erfahren, wessen Wort sich bestätigen wird, das meine oder das ihre!29Und das soll für euch das Zeichen sein, spricht der HERR, dass ich euch an diesem Ort heimsuchen werde, und daran könnt ihr erkennen, dass meine Worte sich an euch gewisslich erfüllen werden zum Unheil:30So spricht der HERR, siehe, ich will den Pharao Hophra, den König von Ägypten, in die Hand seiner Feinde geben und in die Hand derer, die nach seinem Leben trachten, gleichwie ich Zedekia, den König von Juda, in die Hand Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, gegeben habe, der sein Feind war und ihm nach dem Leben trachtete.
