2.Mose 16 | King James Version
1 And they took their journey from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their departing out of the land of Egypt. 2 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: 3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger. 4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. 5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily. 6 And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: 7 And in the morning, then ye shall see the glory of the LORD; for that he heareth your murmurings against the LORD: and what are we, that ye murmur against us? 8 And Moses said, This shall be , when the LORD shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full; for that the LORD heareth your murmurings which ye murmur against him: and what are we? your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD. 9 And Moses spake unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before the LORD: for he hath heard your murmurings. 10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and, behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. 11 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. 13 And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. 14 And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. 15 And when the children of Israel saw it , they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was . And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. 16 This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. 18 And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. 19 And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. 20 Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. 21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. 22 And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man : and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23 And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day , and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24 And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. 26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none. 27 And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? 29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. 31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. 32 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the bread wherewith I have fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you forth from the land of Egypt. 33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before the LORD, to be kept for your generations. 34 As the LORD commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. 35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan. 36 Now an omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

Das Murren des Volkes

1 Und sie brachen auf von Elim, und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israels kam in die Wüste Sin, die zwischen Elim und Sinai liegt, am fünfzehnten Tag des zweiten Monats, nachdem sie aus dem Land Ägypten gezogen waren. 2 Und die ganze Gemeinde der Kinder Israels murrte gegen Mose und gegen Aaron in der Wüste. 3 Und die Kinder Israels sprachen zu ihnen: Wären wir doch durch die Hand des HERRN im Land Ägypten gestorben, als wir bei den Fleischtöpfen saßen und Brot in Fülle zu essen hatten! Denn ihr habt uns in diese Wüste hinausgeführt, um diese ganze Gemeinde verhungern zu lassen! 4 Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Siehe, ich will euch Brot vom Himmel regnen lassen; dann soll das Volk hinausgehen und täglich sammeln, was es braucht, damit ich es prüfe, ob es in meinem Gesetz wandeln wird oder nicht. 5 Am sechsten Tag aber werden sie zubereiten, was sie eingebracht haben, und es wird das Doppelte von dem sein, was sie täglich sammeln. 6 Da sprachen Mose und Aaron zu allen Kindern Israels: Am Abend sollt ihr erkennen, dass es der HERR war, der euch aus dem Land Ägypten geführt hat, 7 und am Morgen werdet ihr die Herrlichkeit des HERRN sehen, denn er hat euer Murren gegen den HERRN gehört. Denn was sind wir, dass ihr gegen uns murrt? 8 Weiter sprach Mose: Der HERR wird euch am Abend Fleisch zu essen geben und am Morgen Brot in Fülle; denn er, der HERR, hat euer Murren gehört, womit ihr gegen ihn gemurrt habt. Denn was sind wir? Euer Murren richtet sich nicht gegen uns, sondern gegen den HERRN! 9 Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Sage der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israels: Kommt herzu vor den HERRN, denn er hat euer Murren gehört! 10 Und es geschah, als Aaron zu der ganzen Gemeinde der Kinder Israels redete, da wandten sie sich zur Wüste; und siehe, die Herrlichkeit des HERRN erschien in der Wolke. 11 Und der HERR redete zu Mose und sprach: 12 Ich habe das Murren der Kinder Israels gehört. Sage ihnen: Zur Abendzeit sollt ihr Fleisch zu essen haben und am Morgen mit Brot gesättigt werden; und ihr sollt erkennen, dass ich der HERR, euer Gott bin! 13 Und es geschah, als es Abend war, da kamen Wachteln herauf und bedeckten das Lager, und am Morgen lag der Tau um das Lager her. 14 Und als der Tau aufgestiegen war, siehe, da lag etwas in der Wüste, rund und klein, so fein wie der Reif auf der Erde.

Das Manna — die wunderbare Nahrung des Volkes Gottes

15 Und als es die Kinder Israels sahen, sprachen sie untereinander: Was ist das?, denn sie wussten nicht, was es war. Mose aber sprach zu ihnen: Dies ist das Brot, das euch der HERR zur Speise gegeben hat! 16 Das ist aber der Befehl, den der HERR gegeben hat: Jeder soll davon sammeln, so viel er zum Essen benötigt, einen Gomer je Kopf, nach der Zahl eurer Seelen; jeder nehme für die, die in seinem Zelt sind. 17 Und die Kinder Israels machten es so und sammelten, der eine viel, der andere wenig. 18 Als man es aber mit dem Gomer maß, da hatte der, welcher viel gesammelt hatte, keinen Überfluss, und der, welcher wenig gesammelt hatte, hatte keinen Mangel, sondern jeder hatte für sich gesammelt, so viel er zum Essen brauchte. 19 Und Mose sprach zu ihnen: Niemand soll etwas davon übrig lassen bis zum anderen Morgen! 20 Aber sie gehorchten Mose nicht; denn etliche ließen davon übrig bis zum Morgen. Da wuchsen Würmer darin, und es wurde stinkend. Und Mose wurde zornig über sie. 21 So sammelten sie es jeden Morgen, jeder so viel er zum Essen brauchte; wenn aber die Sonne heiß schien, zerschmolz es. 22 Und es geschah am sechsten Tag, da sammelten sie doppelt so viel Brot, zwei Gomer für jede Person. Da kamen alle Obersten der Gemeinde und berichteten es Mose. 23 Und er sprach zu ihnen: Das ist es, was der HERR gesagt hat: Morgen ist eine Ruhe, ein heiliger Sabbat des HERRN! Was ihr backen wollt, das backt, und was ihr kochen wollt, das kocht; was aber übrig ist, das legt beiseite, damit es bis morgen aufbewahrt wird! 24 Und sie legten es beiseite bis zum Morgen, wie Mose geboten hatte; und es wurde nicht stinkend, und es war auch kein Wurm darin. 25 Da sprach Mose: Esst das heute! Denn heute ist der Sabbat des HERRN; ihr werdet es heute nicht auf dem Feld finden. 26 Sechs Tage sollt ihr es sammeln, aber am siebten Tag ist der Sabbat, da wird keines zu finden sein. 27 Es geschah aber am siebten Tag, dass etliche vom Volk hinausgingen, um zu sammeln; und sie fanden nichts. 28 Da sprach der HERR zu Mose: Wie lange weigert ihr euch, meine Gebote und meine Anweisungen zu halten? 29 Seht, der HERR hat euch den Sabbat gegeben; darum gibt er euch am sechsten Tag für zwei Tage Brot; so soll nun jeder an seiner Stelle bleiben, und niemand soll am siebten Tag seinen Platz verlassen! 30 So ruhte das Volk am siebten Tag. 31 Und das Haus Israel gab ihm den Namen Manna. Es war aber wie Koriandersamen, weiß, und hatte einen Geschmack wie Honigkuchen. 32 Und Mose sprach: Das ist es, was der HERR geboten hat: Einen Gomer davon sollt ihr aufbewahren für eure Nachkommen, damit sie das Brot sehen, mit dem ich euch in der Wüste gespeist habe, als ich euch aus dem Land Ägypten herausführte! 33 Und Mose sprach zu Aaron: Nimm einen Krug und fülle einen Gomer voll Manna hinein und stelle es vor den HERRN, zur Aufbewahrung für eure Nachkommen! 34 Wie der HERR dem Mose geboten hatte, so stellte es Aaron dort vor das Zeugnis*, zur Aufbewahrung. 35 Und die Kinder Israels aßen das Manna 40 Jahre lang, bis sie zu dem Land kamen, in dem sie wohnen sollten; bis sie an die Grenze Kanaans kamen, aßen sie das Manna. 36 Ein Gomer aber ist der zehnte Teil eines Epha.
