1 Das sind die Könige des Landes, die von den Israeliten geschlagen wurden, und die Länder, die sie in Besitz nahmen, jenseits des Jordan vom Arnontal bis zum Hermongebirge mit der ganzen Araba gegen Sonnenaufgang:

2 Sihon, der Amoriterkönig, der in Heschbon wohnte; er herrschte von Aroër am Rand des Arnontales und von der Mitte des Tals an über das halbe Gilead bis zum Jabboktal, das die Grenze zu den Ammonitern bildet,

3 ferner über die Araba bis zum See Kinneret im Osten und bis zum Meer der Araba, dem Salzmeer im Osten in Richtung auf Bet-Jeschimot und im Süden über das Gebiet unten an den Abhängen des Berges Pisga,

4 dann das Gebiet des Og, des Königs von Baschan, der von den Rafaïtern übrig geblieben war und in Aschtarot und in Edreï wohnte;

5 er herrschte über das Hermongebirge und Salcha und den ganzen Baschan bis zum Gebiet der Geschuriter und der Maachatiter sowie über das halbe Gilead bis zum Gebiet Sihons, des Königs von Heschbon.

6 Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, und die Israeliten hatten sie geschlagen und Mose, der Knecht des HERRN, hatte das Land den Rubenitern, den Gaditern und dem halben Stamm Manasse zum Besitz gegeben.

7 Das sind die Könige des Landes, die Josua und die Israeliten jenseits des Jordan im Westen geschlagen hatten, von Baal-Gad in der Libanonsenke bis zu den kahlen Bergen, die nach Seïr hin ansteigen - Josua gab ihr Land den Stämmen Israels zum Besitz, deren Stammeseinteilung entsprechend:

8 im Gebirge und in der Schefela, in der Araba und an den Bergabhängen, in der Wüste und im Negeb, das Land der Hetiter, der Amoriter, der Kanaaniter, der Perisiter, der Hiwiter und der Jebusiter:

10 der König von Jerusalem: einer; der König von Hebron: einer;

11 der König von Jarmut: einer; der König von Lachisch: einer;

12 der König von Eglon: einer; der König von Geser: einer;

13 der König von Debir: einer; der König von Geder: einer;

14 der König von Horma: einer; der König von Arad: einer;

15 der König von Libna: einer; der König von Adullam: einer;

16 der König von Makkeda: einer; der König von Bet-El: einer;

17 der König von Tappuach: einer; der König von Hefer: einer;

18 der König von Afek: einer; der König von Scharon: einer;

19 der König von Madon: einer; der König von Hazor: einer;

20 der König von Schimron- Meron: einer; der König von Achschaf: einer;

21 der König von Taanach: einer; der König von Megiddo: einer;

List of defeated kings

1 These are the kings of the land whom the Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took over east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern side of the Arabah:

2 Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge – from the middle of the gorge – to the River Jabbok, which is the border of the Ammonites. This included half of Gilead.

3 He also ruled over the eastern Arabah from the Sea of Galilee* to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea), to Beth Jeshimoth, and then southward below the slopes of Pisgah.

4 And the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaites, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei.

5 He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah, all of Bashan to the border of the people of Geshur and Maakah, and half of Gilead to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.

6 Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites conquered them. And Moses the servant of the Lord gave their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh to be their possession.

7 Here is a list of the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises towards Seir. Joshua gave their lands as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel according to their tribal divisions.

8 The lands included the hill country, the western foothills, the Arabah, the mountain slopes, the wilderness and the Negev. These were the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. These were the kings: the king of Jericho one, the king of Ai (near Bethel) one, the king of Jerusalem one, the king of Hebron one, the king of Jarmuth one, the king of Lachish one, the king of Eglon one, the king of Gezer one, the king of Debir one, the king of Geder one, the king of Hormah one, the king of Arad one, the king of Libnah one, the king of Adullam one, the king of Makkedah one, the king of Bethel one, the king of Tappuah one, the king of Hepher one, the king of Aphek one, the king of Lasharon one, the king of Madon one, the king of Hazor one, the king of Shimron Meron one, the king of Akshaph one, the king of Taanach one, the king of Megiddo one, the king of Kedesh one, the king of Jokneam in Carmel one, the king of Dor (in Naphoth Dor) one, the king of Goyim in Gilgal one, the king of Tirzah one, thirty-one kings in all.,
