1Así me dijo YHVH: Ve y cómprate un cinto de lino y cíñelo a tus lomos, pero que no lo toque el agua.2Compré pues el cinto, conforme a la palabra de YHVH, y lo ceñí a mis lomos.3Y vino a mí la palabra de YHVH por segunda vez, diciendo:4Toma el cinto que has comprado, que está en tus lomos, y levántate, ve al Éufrates y escóndelo allá en una hendidura de la peña.5Fui, pues, y lo escondí junto al Éufrates, como YHVH me había mandado.6Y al cabo de muchos días me dijo YHVH: Levántate, ve al Éufrates y toma el cinto que te mandé esconder allí.7Fui pues al Éufrates, y cavé y tomé el cinturón del lugar donde lo había escondido, y he aquí el cinturón se había podrido y ya no servía para nada.8Entonces tuve revelación de YHVH, que decía:9Así dice YHVH: Así reduciré a podredumbre la soberbia de Judá y la gran soberbia de Jerusalem.10Este pueblo malo, que despectivamente rehúsa oír mis palabras, que anda en la dureza de su corazón, yendo tras otros dioses para servirlos y postrarse ante ellos, vendrá a ser como este cinto, que ya no sirve para nada.11Porque como el cinto se junta a los lomos de un hombre, así hice juntarse conmigo a toda la casa de Israel y a toda la casa de Judá, dice YHVH, para que fueran mi pueblo, mi renombre, mi alabanza y mi gloria. Pero ellos no quisieron escuchar.
Los odres
12Así que les dirás esta palabra: Así dice YHVH, Dios de Israel: Todo odre se llenará de vino. Y ellos te dirán: ¿Acaso no sabemos muy bien que todo odre se llena de vino?13Entonces les dirás: Así dice YHVH: He aquí Yo lleno de embriaguez a todos los habitantes de esta tierra, a los reyes de la casa que se sientan sobre el trono de David, a los sacerdotes, a los profetas y a todos los habitantes de Jerusalem.14Y haré que choquen unos contra otros, padres e hijos juntamente, dice YHVH. No perdonaré ni tendré piedad, ni me compadeceré para no destruirlos.
Cautiverio de Judá
15¡Oíd y prestad atención! No seáis altivos, porque YHVH ha hablado.16Dad gloria a YHVH vuestro Dios, Antes que haga venir tinieblas, Antes que vuestros pies tropiecen por los montes tenebrosos, Y la luz que esperáis la convierta en lóbregas tinieblas,17Pero si no escucháis, por vuestra soberbia mi alma llorará en secreto, Y llorando amargamente mis ojos se desharán en lágrimas, Porque el rebaño de YHVH habrá sido hecho cautivo.18Di al rey y a la soberana: ¡Sentaos humillados! Porque la corona de vuestra gloria ha caído de vuestras cabezas.19Las ciudades del Mediodía han sido cerradas, y no hay quien las abra; Todo Judá marcha al destierro, Sin faltar uno son llevados en cautiverio.20¡Alza tus ojos y mira quién viene del norte! ¿Dónde está la grey que te fue dada; el rebaño de tu gloria?21¿Qué dirás cuando ponga como jefes sobre ti a antiguos compañeros que tú misma enseñaste? ¿No sentirás dolores como de parturienta?22Y cuando digas en tu corazón: ¿Por qué me suceden estas cosas? Por la magnitud de tu iniquidad han sido descubiertas tus faldas y violentados tus calcañares.23¿Cambiará el etíope su piel, O sus manchas el leopardo? Así también vosotros, ¿podréis hacer lo bueno, Estando habituados a hacer lo malo?24Por tanto, Yo los esparciré como la hojarasca que pasa con el viento del desierto.25Ésta es tu suerte, La porción señalada por mí mismo, dice YHVH, Porque te has olvidado de mí y has confiado en la mentira.26Por tanto Yo también descubriré tus faldas, Y las alzaré sobre tu rostro, Para que sean vistas tus vergüenzas,27Tus adulterios, tus lujuriantes relinchos, y la maldad de tu fornicación. Sobre los collados y en el campo he visto todas tus abominaciones. ¡Ay de ti, Jerusalem, que no te purificas!, ¿hasta cuándo será?

1Thus saith the LORD unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.2So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it on my loins.3And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying,4Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.5So I went, and hid it by Euphrates, as the LORD commanded me.6And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.7Then I went to Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it: and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.8Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,9Thus saith the LORD, After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem.10This evil people, which refuse to hear my words, which walk in the imagination of their heart, and walk after other gods, to serve them, and to worship them, shall even be as this girdle, which is good for nothing.11For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not hear.12Therefore thou shalt speak unto them this word; Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Every bottle shall be filled with wine: and they shall say unto thee, Do we not certainly know that every bottle shall be filled with wine?13Then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David' throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.14And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.15Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.16Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.17But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD' flock is carried away captive.18Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down, even the crown of your glory.19The cities of the south shall be shut up, and none shall open them : Judah shall be carried away captive all of it, it shall be wholly carried away captive.20Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north: where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?21What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? for thou hast taught them to be captains, and as chief over thee: shall not sorrows take thee, as a woman in travail?22And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things upon me? For the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts discovered, and thy heels made bare.23Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.24Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.25This is thy lot, the portion of thy measures from me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.26Therefore will I discover thy skirts upon thy face, that thy shame may appear.27I have seen thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy whoredom, and thine abominations on the hills in the fields. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! wilt thou not be made clean? when shall it once be ?
