La resurrección

1 También os recuerdo hermanos el evangelio que os prediqué, el cual también recibisteis, en el cual también estáis firmes. 2 Por el cual también, si os aferráis a la palabra que os prediqué, sois salvos, si no creísteis en vano. 3 Porque primeramente os entregué lo que también recibí: Que el Mesías murió por nuestros pecados, conforme a las Escrituras; 4 que fue sepultado y que fue resucitado al tercer día, conforme a las Escrituras; 5 y que fue visto por Cefas, y después por los doce. 6 Después fue visto por más de quinientos hermanos a la vez, la mayoría de los cuales aún viven, y algunos ya duermen. 7 Después fue visto por Jacobo; después, por todos los apóstoles. 8 Y al último de todos, como a un abortivo, apareció también a mí, 9 que soy el más insignificante de los apóstoles, y no soy digno de ser llamado apóstol, porque perseguí a la iglesia de Dios. 10 Pero por la gracia de Dios soy lo que soy, y su gracia hacia mí no ha sido en vano; al contrario, trabajé más que todos ellos, pero no yo, sino la gracia de Dios conmigo. 11 Pues, bien sea yo, bien sean ellos, así predicamos, y así habéis creído. 12 Entonces, si se predica que el Mesías fue resucitado de los muertos, ¿cómo dicen algunos entre vosotros que no hay resurrección de muertos? 13 Porque si no hay resurrección de muertos, tampoco el Mesías fue resucitado; 14 y si el Mesías no fue resucitado, vana es nuestra predicación, vana también vuestra fe; 15 y hasta somos hallados falsos testigos de Dios, porque testificamos que Dios resucitó al Mesías, al cual no resucitó, si es verdad que los muertos no son resucitados. 16 Porque si los muertos no son resucitados, tampoco el Mesías fue resucitado. 17 Y si el Mesías no fue resucitado, vuestra fe es inútil: aún estáis en vuestros pecados, 18 y también los que durmieron en el Mesías perecieron. 19 Si solamente para esta vida esperamos en el Mesías, somos los más dignos de lástima de todos los hombres. 20 Pero ahora: ¡El Mesías fue resucitado de entre los muertos como primicias de los que duermen! 21 (Porque por cuanto la muerte vino por medio de un hombre, también por medio de un Hombre la resurrección de los muertos. 22 Porque así como en el Adam todos mueren, así también en el Mesías todos serán vivificados. 23 Pero cada uno en su orden: el Mesías, que es las primicias, luego, los que son del Mesías en su venida. 24 Luego el fin: cuando entregue el reino al Dios y Padre, cuando suprima todo imperio, y toda autoridad y poder. 25 Porque es necesario que Él reine, hasta que ponga a todos sus enemigos bajo sus pies, 26 y el postrer enemigo en ser destruido es la muerte. 27 Porque todas las cosas sometió bajo sus pies. Pero al decir: todas las cosas le han sido sometidas, claro es que está exceptuando a aquel que le sometió todas las cosas. 28 Y cuando le hayan sido sometidas todas las cosas, entonces también el Hijo mismo se sujetará al que le sujetó a Él todas las cosas, para que Dios sea todo en todos.) 29 Si no es así, ¿qué harán los que son bautizados por los muertos? Si realmente los muertos no son resucitados, ¿por qué, pues, son bautizados por ellos? 30 ¿Y por qué nosotros estamos en peligro a toda hora? 31 Por la gloria que tengo de vosotros en Jesús el Mesías, Señor nuestro, cada día muero. 32 Si como hombre batallé contra fieras en Éfeso, ¿qué provecho obtuve si los muertos no son resucitados? ¡Comamos y bebamos, porque mañana moriremos! 33 No os dejéis engañar; las malas compañías corrompen las buenas costumbres. 34 Volved justamente a la sensatez, y no sigáis pecando, porque algunos adolecen de percepción de Dios. Hablo para vergüenza vuestra. 35 Pero dirá alguno: ¿Cómo son resucitados los muertos? ¿Con qué clase de cuerpo vienen? 36 ¡Insensato! Lo que tú siembras no es vivificado si no muere. 37 Y lo que siembras: No siembras el cuerpo que llegará a ser, sino un grano desnudo, de trigo o de algún otro; 38 pero Dios le da un cuerpo como Él quiso, y a cada una de las semillas su propio cuerpo. 39 No toda carne es la misma carne, sino que una es humana; otra, carne de bestias; otra, carne de aves; y otra, de peces. 40 Y hay cuerpos celestiales, y cuerpos terrenales; pero una, en verdad, es la gloria de los celestiales, y otra, la de los terrenales; 41 una es la gloria del sol; y otra, la gloria de la luna; y otra, la gloria de las estrellas; porque una estrella difiere de otra en gloria. 42 Así también es la resurrección de los muertos: Se siembra en corrupción, resucita en incorrupción; 43 se siembra en humillación, resucita en gloria; se siembra en debilidad, resucita con poder; 44 se siembra cuerpo animal, resucita cuerpo espiritual. Si hay cuerpo animal, hay también espiritual. 45 Así también está escrito: El primer hombre, Adam, fue hecho un ser viviente; el postrer Adam, un espíritu vivificante. 46 Pero no es primero lo espiritual, sino lo físico; luego, lo espiritual. 47 El primer hombre, sacado de la tierra, es terrenal; el segundo Hombre, venido del cielo. 48 Como el terrenal, así también los terrenales, y como el celestial, así también los celestiales. 49 Y así como exhibimos la imagen del terrenal, exhibiremos también la imagen del celestial. 50 Pero esto digo, hermanos: La carne y la sangre no pueden heredar el reino de Dios; ni la corrupción hereda la incorrupción. 51 He aquí, os digo un misterio: No todos dormiremos, pero todos seremos transformados, 52 en un instante, en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, a la final trompeta (porque sonará la trompeta), y los muertos serán resucitados incorruptibles, y nosotros seremos transformados. 53 Porque es necesario que esto corruptible sea vestido de incorrupción, y esto mortal sea vestido de inmortalidad. 54 Y cuando esto corruptible se vista de incorrupción, y esto mortal se vista de inmortalidad, entonces se cumplirá la palabra que ha sido escrita: ¡Sorbida es la muerte en victoria! 55 ¿Dónde está, oh muerte, tu victoria? ¿Dónde, oh muerte, tu aguijón? 56 Pues el aguijón de la muerte es el pecado, y el poder del pecado, la ley. 57 ¡Pero gracias a Dios, que nos da la victoria por medio de Jesús el Mesías, Señor nuestro! 58 Así que, mis hermanos amados, estad firmes, inconmovibles, abundando en la obra del Señor siempre, sabiendo que vuestro trabajo en el Señor no es vano.

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me. 11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed. 12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. 29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? 30 And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? 31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. 33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame. 35 But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? 36 Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: 37 And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain: 38 But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. 39 All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory. 42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. 46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. 47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. 55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
