1Ich liebe den HERRN, denn er hat mich gehört, als ich zu ihm um Hilfe schrie.2Ja, er hat sich zu mir herabgeneigt; mein Leben lang will ich zu ihm rufen!3Ich war schon gefangen in den Fesseln des Todes, Sterbensangst hatte mich gepackt, und ich war völlig verzweifelt.4Da schrie ich laut zum HERRN, ich flehte ihn an: »O HERR, rette mein Leben!«5Wie gnädig und gerecht ist der HERR! Ja, unser Gott ist voll Erbarmen!6Er beschützt alle, die sich selbst nicht helfen können. Ich war in großer Gefahr, doch der HERR hat mir geholfen!7Nun kann ich wieder ruhig werden und sagen: »Der HERR hat mir Gutes erwiesen!«8Ja, er hat mich vor dem sicheren Tod gerettet.
